Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
What's the deal with the uniform survey? Should this really be an issue now?
I hope we don't waste one second of negotiations or one cent of possible restoration attempting to modify the uniform. Questions like, "should we replace the coat with a windbreaker?", "should we be allowed to leave the coat unbuttoned?"
, "would you like a leather jacket?". Of course there's something about the hat.
Maybe I'm missing something, but I can't believe this is what bothers us. For the right price, I'll wear a clown suit.
Sorry if this has been discussed earlier - didn't have time to skim the last 30 pages of dalpa/dpa arguments.

T.O. is really putting a lot of energy into soliciting input from pilots and collecting information so that DALPA can better represent us in all aspects of our career at DAL. This is a small project and really didn't take "time and energy" away from prepping for openers, IMHO.
Using that logic, I guess DALPA could also say,
"In fact the contract pilots demand is available today if the company were to offer it."
Sounds pretty silly, doesn't it?
News flash: the company won't offer it. DALPA is going to have to pony up, earn those cushy perks, and ruffle some feathers to produce results.
I say again: stop rolling over for the company and refusing to hold yourselves accountable for this ridiculous "constructive engagement." Or DALPA's gone.

The best strategy to handle what you have so accurately posted is to use the SWAPA contract in it's entirety as the leverage we need. We know that it would put management in a difficult spot to have to begin dismantling all of the outsourcing contracts, and as such, they would hate it. If we are willing to be 100% for it, the NMB would have a dilemma. There's no way our position could be deemed unreasonable, thus putting management in the difficult spot of wanting numerous changes to the SWAPA while we would say we're just ducky with every item in it. For every item that the NMB had sympathy with management for changing, our position would be: "OK...what are you willing to give us for that?"

Book your seat company business like you would for training up to 14 days prior. Then within 24 hours of your original show time call scheduling. They'll make note of your deviation and original deadhead on your ROT will show DD and the flight number. The dirty details are in the live contract deadhead section. 8.E.5 is important.
Thanks For the information.
I haven't worn a watch since 2002.
I once owned a big watch when I was learning to fly though.

I for one (and I thought most of us) were talking about sunsetting these contracts (at least on the regional level), as opposed to dismantling them. This is just a WAG, but I would venture to say the legal obstacles of dismantling regional contracts tomorrow would put the negotiating price outside of our collective reach. Codeshares and JVs may be in a different category, and we may be able to handle them right out of the gate. In any event, in the survey I said that I would be willing to wait the time it takes to sunset, if in fact we bring this flying back to in-house.

And now from my generous nature. I would like this watch for all my "Delta Brothers" as a good faith gift from Management. This beauty was developed for the Pan AM pilots in 1952. Pan Am management went directly to Rolex and requested them to build this GMT watch for their pilots.

Imagine, what a great uniform piece this would be!!!
TEN
I'll second that on the uniform piece. Instead we would probably get a cheap WalMart clock on a rope to wear around our necks a la Flavor Flav.
I'd post the visual but haven't learned how to do that.

So Bacon not sure I get it! You want us to stop doing what we are doing to save DALPA or do you wants us to continue and lose DALPA or? I thought by your posts before you want DALPA gone so why encourage people to change to save DALPA? Just trying to follow your logic and intent.

So I don't want DALPA to change to save DALPA. I'm hoping they'll change enough to succeed on the contract. But I'm not holding my breath.
