Just wondering as I thought this was more of an internal "growth" announcement. |

Been out of the loop for quite a while. So what is the bottom line? Is Delta short pilots? Fat on pilots? Going to furlough? No idea? Anyone with insight please chime in.

Extremely doubtful New. We got the 73's, MD-90s, Alaska's 73's and Skywest all over this place. Plus, the 9 can't fly the arrivals. LA would not allow that. You'd spend all of your time holding and waiting for a visual.

You guys can fly an VNAV/RNAV arrival to an ILS off the FMS without further guidance? If I'm not mistaken, and I might be, it takes pre-programmed VNAV descents, FMS guidance, and glass to make it happen. I'm an old school C-141 guy so I get it. But they don't give you vectors or speeds into LA. You start your descent over Phoenix and its all via the box. Otherwise, they throw you out over Seal Beach and you're screwed. |
