When checking in for a rotation, I understand you can do it through ICrew. Do you have to be at a certain terminal in the airport to do this, or can you do it from your laptop prior to getting on site. Also, can you just call in while you are in the parking lot to checkin?

N has to use one of 4 special phones in MSP in order to check-in, and don't be 10 seconds late doing it either.

Just curious. Thanks,

You can call the schedulers or use the computers in the crew room at "A" - 15 minute grace period for sign in.

I was wrong. For that I am truly sorry. I got bad information and I should not have posted that there was a possibility that something positive was just around the corner until it was completely confirmed. Any announcement on the 15th is unbeknownst to me and the 15th should just be another day.

I am sorry I got people's hopes up. I was so wrong for doing that. My intention was only to say, as I knew it at the time, that 'hey some goods news is finally coming.' But I was wrong. Nothing is forthcoming. For the multiple insults that are heading my way I will accept all (except those pertaining to family members) and I profusely apologize to everyone, hoping you have it in your heart to forgive.

Since I made such a colossal blunder this will be my last post.

Once again, apologies to all!

Not to worry....you can redeem yourself by telling us what the whole rumor was about in the first place...hmmmm?:D

Heyas,

For those who are considering moving to MSP, make sure you go and spend AT LEAST a week looking around and interacting with the locals.

While relatively safe, it is an uncommonly expensive city to live in. If you are a seafood lover, get used to Walleye (it's gross) or Red Lobster, cause that's about it.

Unless you are from Minnesota or Wisconsin, you may be given the cold shoulder by the locals. It's just they way they are...everything revolves around what town you live in (Edina vs Eden Prarie), where you went to high school, and what hockey team you kid plays on.

You may be able to tolerate it, but from what I understand, spouses, who are there 24/7, don't like it at all because of this. It's hard to break into the local social scene unless you live in a neighborhood of other out-of-towners.

Sounds a lot like CVG to. You marry your high school sweetheart and by the time your 27 you have 2 kids, and a house not more than 20 miles form where you grew up. The place sucks if you are single and it is one of the cliquiest places I have seen.

Its funny hearing you guys talk about CVG. I was born and raised there. I guess I'm immune since I'm a "local".

You can do it from the computers in the pilot lounge for the airport you're checking in at or you can do it over the phone. Either way works great. Your laptop won't work because it doesn't give you the same access as the network computers do in the lounges. You can be a little late, also, and not raise any concerns. Just sign in and get to the jet, that's the ticket.

If you are referring to the position openings, most of those are going to be filled by NWA folks. Not many jobs for DAL south guys for the next few years.

Well THERE's a shocker...

I've called crew skeds from the parking lot in CVG; there's a prompt for the sign-in desk. They need your employee number and want to hear that you're at the airport. As Buzz said, nobody freaks out if you're a couple of minutes late.

Most of us live on the east side, with the other outsiders...
