Also, you can check via the VRU. It puts a time stamp on your sked as viewed either way.

I check at 310 or so and then wait for the phone to ring. I also check it about 0900 the day prior to see if I have been assigned anything for the next day. That is when they generally get done with the open time. It is released to the reserves at 0800 the pay prior. If you want a trip make sure to lower your raw prior to 0800 and have a trip qualifier in.
I do it all of the time when on reserve and generally like what I get.

Reserve question for DAL-S:

Do you only have to check your schedule after 3pm base time or do you also have to check sometime in the morning?

Thanks,

My .02. Is if they have trip they will call u. But have to check at 3 pm of u base time at minimum. Sometimes they post shortcall earlier than 3. So is smart to check earlier than 3 if u commute so u can get there.

I'm fairly new to this board so please forgive my ignorance. Is ACL65 a top executive in DAL or does he have a crystal ball? Has he made predictions in the past that have been so accurate that everyone here just assumes all he says is correct? I ask these questions in all seriousness as he seems to have quite the following. As a North pilot I'm used to 99% of all rumors being just that.

Thanks

He has friends in high places and tends to be right on the money. FWIW, it is nice to have someone on here who gives us the real news versus talking from their a$$.

PMFJI, but he is a line pilot. He was an LCA at ASA, so appears to have cultivated some contacts on the fourth floor. Contacts which seem to be fruitful. For all of us.

Multi-sources and cross checks and does a good job connecting the dots. Usually says when he's making educated guesses vs. fact, and has been right more than wrong. Rumor is LM wanted him to be the ALPA Communications Chairman so they could get him to quit keeping us informed ;)

Thanks for the reserve info. Also, when they run the bids each month, is there a certain percentage of open time or do they try and assign each and every trip during bid processing?

Looking forward to the S reserve rules.

By the way I am not directing this solely at you ACL.

read my previous post. His intentions were noble. I personally have known about this tidbit for some time and have not even hinted at it. I just told him to PM me.
I agree with what you are saying and know it is hard when other know. I am in that position a lot. I also see where he/she was coming from with posting it. He wanted people (us) to know there was some good news around the corner.

I hinted at is last week when I stated that there was a plan coming together.

I would post it if I could, but due to the nature of the information, I will not talk about it.
I am sure most people will know via PM shortly. There are a few that cannot keep that info quiet so, I am sure you will know sooner or later. Just do not post it if you find out that is all.
