Go Pack. Where in WI?
MKE and MSN are easy commutes to MSP or DTW!

you will get the paid move just be patient. It will be here in less than eight months.

MKE yes, MSN not so much. I would highly recommend reconnoitering both areas to live in base. There are some fabulous places within 1-1.5 hrs of each airport and QOL and opportunities are far better. If you are going to move that far up north why not just live in base?

ACL,

You mentioned that MSP will maintain a large presence. Any inside rumblings as to what aircraft will be based there, other than the -88 and RJ's?

It you look at the corporate demographics of the MSP area as well as the agreement that DAL inked with MSP and MN, you can read between the lines. There will be some coastal flying as well as a good bid of international, but most of the feed will be RJ's IMHO. The language in the agreement states that it has to be 76 seats or greater. That is a poker player giving away their hand.
There is a ton of O and D in MSP so I am sure we will see 757's for some of the coastal flying but a lot of MD-90's for much of it. I also see a good bid of international out of there. Maybe not the 744 but flying none the less. I also see some other flying mixed in, but MSP can be served quite well with a mix of MD-90's, 76 seat jets and big boys. Most of the International will be fed to the gateways, with a remaining presence for the cities that are logically fed though a Midwestern hub.

In effect, MSP will be here for quite some time.

Just my .02.

I would first have to convince the Mrs, to move out of the South. She has no problem with where I fly out of as long as it starts and ends with a commute to Texas and more specifically North central Texas.

He'll get the paid move? Looks like he's on the -88. In order to get a paid move he'd have to get pushed out of ATL on it correct?

Well, I love Wisconsin. My favorite state. I plan to be within 30 minutes of CWA or RHI. If I miss that flight my backup is the car at a 3 hour drive. Doable. I'm working towards my goal of a lakehouse in Manitowish Waters, WI (in the new Public Enemies movie!). Hopefully real estate will drop up there.

Hoping for some good news on the 15th!

Also for any DAL-S or DAL-N guy the other sides bases are considered new bases for the first six months so you do not need to be MDed to get a move paid for.

I doubt that the prices of those summer homes will drop too much. There is a ton of demand from all of the boomers that are retiring.

ACL, when you get tired of the rat race in the DFW area, come on down to the Hill Country and live the good life. You have an open invitation for a golf day at my club north of San Antone'. Just take 281 South and you are there.

I would love to live there. Have a little place near San Marcos, but the commute out of SAT and AUS stinks. How do you do it with all of those RJ's? Jet Blue to JFK?

It is in the Alamo Heights area?
