All those Capt's. and no F/O's, it's pretty clear that this award is to accomodate the changeover from NW staffing rules to DL staffing rules prior to either BP5 or SOC.

P.S. At least one of those guys is over 60...

The award was for October and in October there will not be a specific block and reserve on the 744 as their BP5 is in Sept. My guess would have to do with CA augmentation and duty/trip hr credit changes.

good point !

Yes, and a career Navy man. Quite impressive individual if I do say so myself. He is just senior to TK. Same class in fact.

Fact is nothing would surprise me. The fleet plan has the ER's staying for another 15 to 20 years. There are a few that had leases coming up and a few that they owned that they might have gotten a good deal on, but you will probably get to retire on this thing unless you are young like 80 or Super than it will have to be the 777-4000 ;)

787 is rumored to be making its first flight on June 28.

Carl, or any smart whale guys?

Ferd

Augmentation was the big reason.

Did you really mean: "Smart whale guy?"

Yep, and a couple of classes junior to me. One of my classmates used to work for him in the Navy and raved about him. I've only met him once and was impressed.

Talked to a Rep - this is the reason. They (NWA) had dragged their feet previously and it all had to happen on this APA in order to be in compliance for Oct BP5 staffing.

BP5 for the 744 is Sept, so are you saying that they will not be in compliance in Sept?
