My briefing to the First Officer is, "I don't care who does what, as long as it all gets done." I think that is the general Delta philosophy. Other than the "Captain Ejection Switch", there are no sacred cows in my cockpit.

That's the trick! Right hand on the starter switch, left hand on the fuel control levers. The bumps on the taxiway have caused my hand to slip off the starter on a few occasions. That's the only issue with the delayed start. Fuel control off and let the N2 roll back to 0 before re-engaging the starter.

I could be mistaken. Long time since I flew anything Douglas.

It's been two airplanes since the MD for me, but I thought the amount of auto brake could be modulated with the handle to smooth the transition. At least that is what it looked like they were doing, always at lower speed. I could be mistaken.

Don't try it - surely I was mistaken.

That's the philosophy with 99% of the captains I fly with. Great CRM in the cockpit at DAL.
1. The beacon 2. The landing lights 3. The spoilers Oh, and hold off on shuttting down the left engine until I say. The list is growing.... |
In the Boeing's you pop the Speed Brakes out of their extend position to disarm the auto brakes. It works a lot better than pressing on the pedals to get the auto brakes off.
In the Douglas birds they are called Spoilers. ;) |
