Ferd,
Can't stand the DFW commute anymore?
There are a decent amount of DAL guys that live in PHX. Some go to LAX and some come to ATL.
Guess what Ferd? I am debating leaving ATL too. Depends on how the cards are played the next six months.

We have debated going home for a long time, Texas has never really been home, and we are seeing a good real estate opportunity........up in DFW, down in PHX.

Yeah, next 6 months will be interesting. I've given up on the -400 (so close but no cigar) and I want to see where the A330 is going to end up prior to bidding it.

Good luck on your move!! I've actually had a lot of traffic through my house, now if someone would make an offer:D

This might be a good sign for our two year no-furlough clause. Hopefully DAL will honor it and the economy will turn prior to the two year mark.

ALPA was able to reach an agreement with DHL that would keep all of the ASTAR pilots hired prior to March 2008 on the payroll at least through March 2010.
DHL agreed to honor the no-furlough clause in the pilots’ existing contract signed between ALPA and ASTAR in March 2008. The settlement also ensures every protected pilot their current pay status through March 2010 or for six months after they stop flying, whichever is longer.

This week marks the one-year anniversary that DHL announced it would give most of its North American flying to UPS. The plan was immediately opposed by ALPA and the ASTAR MEC. ALPA’s Executive Council and Executive Board quickly authorized an MCF grant to fight the deal through an aggressive public outreach campaign that included public relations, advertising, lobbying, and public demonstrations.

“Our goals were simple,” said Capt. Pat Walsh, ASTAR MEC chair. “Stop the DHL/UPS agreement from being finalized, keep as many of our pilots working as long as possible, and obtain the best severance we could for any pilots who would lose their jobs. None of this could have been achieved without our ALPA contract, our ALPA representation, and our active pilot group.”

They are all the same but who cares, hold it down for 30 seconds and you can erase it a few times. Fact is that it is a soft erase, that is it. They can still get the data if they need it.....

Funny thing Fred is that I normally do the overhead. Most the guys I fly with tell me to do it and they will check it. We are Big Picture here. I hope ya like it. It does take some getting used to, but once you do you will like it!
BTW just get the switches in the correct position, there is not a Black and White flow to it.

3-5 seconds on the CVR test on the DC-9.
6 second delay in between the stall warning test systems...

Yes. NWA was VERY specific in how they wanted us to do things and it will take a lot of getting used to, but I'm sure the big picture will work just fine. The Delta way seems to allow the Captain to be like Neo in the Matrix. I guess he can make things as he sees fit. Sort of, maybe.

That's funny. Ever since I got to Delta, I have told my wife the policies and procedures we have here are set in stone......unless the Captain says so!:D

I guess the whole profit thing for this year is quickly dwindling. :(

Seems your opinion is that a further reduction would result in only displacements?

Hey Knew, don't sit there. Go do the walk around, greet the pax, and then come up run the Before Start Checklist. Most the CA's I fly with are mingling around while we board.

You don't have to worry about me, ACL. I want stuff to do. Sitting around watching the FO start the engines AND do all the flows will be very unnatural for me. Same thing with the shutdown.
