Yeah, next 6 months will be interesting. I've given up on the -400 (so close but no cigar) and I want to see where the A330 is going to end up prior to bidding it. Good luck on your move!! I've actually had a lot of traffic through my house, now if someone would make an offer:D Ferd I have some land if you want that in TX Ferd! LAX is looking like a nice option from DFW too! Guys say the commute is easy with AMR having flights to all four airports every hr. |

1. The beacon 2. The landing lights 3. The spoilers Oh, and hold off on shuttting down the left engine until I say. The list is growing.... |

I guess the whole profit thing for this year is quickly dwindling. :(
Seems your opinion is that a further reduction would result in only displacements? All my flights have been full. I guess it is just hit and miss. The people I have talked to paid a lot for their tickets too, so we will see how the rest of the year goes. |

NewK, you'll find that most Captains get the boards and lights as they exit the runway. The FO is supposed to use the checklist to confirm they're done. |

In the Boeing's you pop the Speed Brakes out of their extend position to disarm the auto brakes. It works a lot better than pressing on the pedals to get the auto brakes off.
In the Douglas birds they are called Spoilers. ;) |

Ferd,
Can't stand the DFW commute anymore? There are a decent amount of DAL guys that live in PHX. Some go to LAX and some come to ATL. Guess what Ferd? I am debating leaving ATL too. Depends on how the cards are played the next six months. |

Yea I used to do that all the time. The standards people were having a tizzy about that a few years ago so I kinda "lost" that technique. Have they gotten over it?
Here at DAL a lot of "Just technique" turns in to School house standards. We all need to realize what is a technique and what is not. I have had a few LCA pilots try to tell me that a technique is a procedure. I then ask to see where in Vol 1, or the FOM it is published. Shall is passive and Will is mandatory. For some reason they are really big in the legal definition of what "is" is but we all forget it. Now, as for the Speed brakes, where does it say that you cannot disarm them that way. It is like a CA reaching up and turning them off. As far as I know it is one of the many ways to disarm them, and I cannot find where that technique is prohibited...... Now if you go and leave the A/T's on until touchdown in a 756 they might have a beef. ;) |
