It seems that DL execs know that coming to DALPA asking for any more scope relief will not go over well and will probably all but destroy the current 'workable' relationship they have. UAL on the other hand seems to really want scope much more flying to the regionals.

I knew it would only be a matter of time before AA and CO realized they were operating at a disadvantage when compared to the others. But I hope APA and CALPA hold strong on the limits they already have in place. They could use this as an opportunity to set a very important precedent.

I'd love to see someone set that precedent, I wish it was us. CAL could, but their pilot group needs to fight not only their management but some in their "union" for better work rules and pay first, then scope. As time goes on the portion of pilots willing to do that at CAL will become large enough that I think they accomplish some good things and more power to them.

The other issue for CAL is they need to dump those 735s, its hard to order 100 seaters if you already have a 100ish seater on property, but if they're as inefficient as I've heard they are then I hope they dump em' and get some new 100 seat and 70ish seat jets like the EJet family or CSeries.

Just read on Deltanet about our inaugural flight to Saigon. We broke cargo records with 5.2 tons and 6.4 tons back. The report said it was mostly GAP and Polo clothing and Nike sneakers.

So go shop at the GAP to fatten our profit sharing checks! Captains can shop at the Ralph Lauren store for the Polo stuff.

HA! :D

So true. I didn't know pilots were supposed to dress up on overnights till I got here.

If you consider a "Don't Mess with Texas" T-Shirt and cargo shorts dressed up, then I hear ya ;)

I know. You and I were the ones in collared shirts. He was the guy with the spiffy shirt.
But hey, at least he bought dinner.

I flew with a guy last year who seriously had people laughing at him on when we walked down the street. This guy had a white undershirt and khaki shorts on along with long black socks and black "waiter" sneakers. I was thinking wow, but when a car full of teenagers pulled up on the street and started laughing out the window at him i hope he got the picture. I wouldn't walk around in my house like that let alone down the street for dinner.

Maybe his wife picked out his layover clothes. She probably sleeps pretty well knowing that he's out in town dressed like that.

-Flew with a Captain some years back who spent his time in AMS holed up in his room with cans of tuna and crackers. I thought he was the poster-boy of cheap pilots until he explained that he got busted fooling around with an FA, and that his wife insisted that he be available for a phone call at the hotel whenever she wished.

Poor b@stard!

I should have worn my "mullet" shirt.

It's funny how the guys with the least amount of personality on the domestic side tend to be the guys that buy the dinner the most. I always enjoy Aunt Chilada's...even better when it's free!
