Hey, guys! I have a non rev question. Can we use our travel benefits on our codeshare partners like Air France, China Southern, etc.? There are a couple of flights that pull up in Travelnet (for example, SFO-CDG using Air France) and Travelnet allows me to list for them like a Delta flight. Can we use our regular benefits on these type of flights or will I end up with a bill at some point? I can't find anything on Deltanet about these types of benefits (ya... big surprise there!).
These are the code share flts. I am guessing it comes up as a 8000 block flt. I have nonreved on these type of flts before on AeroMexico. From what I remember we can nonrev on them, but they are only required to assign you a seat that DAL has bought on the aircraft. IE DAL has 30 seats on said flight and they are all sold out with people who bought DAL tickets stock, but the rest of the plane has 40 seats. They are not required to seat you in their open seats, only the open seats that are blocked off for the DAL codes share. AF does things a little differently over in CDG, but this is the gist of what I have heard from people who have done it. Anyone else........ |

You have to purchase a ZED fare. If you go on DeltaNet, you can see the OAL guide under "Employee Info", then "Employee Connection", then "Travel" in the left navigation bar. From Travelnet just click on "News and Info" in the top navigation tab and you will be taken to the Pass Travel page. Other airline agreements are listed on the right side under "Other Airline Travel". Delta no longer has any block space arrangements with foreign air carriers. We are using a "sell and report" system, which means that the seats aren't Delta's until they are actually sold. You'll see that our codeshare flight numbers are specifically excluded on all our ZED agreemenets (8000 series for Air France, for example), so you have to buy the ZED on the operating carrier's flight number. Hope this helps. The "search" funtion on DeltaNet will take you to a lot of 2007-2008 documents that discuss this. |

Anyone hearing any rumors about how many might be interested in the PERP?
I was in ATL last week and heard to old geezers saying that they were going to take it. |

I was in ATL last week and heard to old geezers saying that they were going to take it. Dudes, this Int'l stuff is a great high. Let's see, 2hrs sleep followed by 8 1/2 hrs to MUC, followed by massive beer intake, followed by 3am phone call from daughter resulting in 1 1/2 hrs sleep (ok I slept when I got into MUC for a few), followed by 9 1/2 leg and no non-revs getting on flight (including wife), followed by 6 hr sit in Sky Club waiting for wife: Who needs drugs man! I'm seeing all kinds of stuff. Oh crap, LOW BEER LIGHT on again! |

Acl,
But, that is why we put the info in the airway manual, I know I put in a bunch of dividers (did I get that one right?) for the nuance? I don't do much AMS, maybe just a few times a year, but I read the P-0 pages and the QRM enroute and I'm comfortable. As I've said before, I'll do it how the man wants it done with a smile on my face. I just don't think I'm unprepared now. Ferd |

It's really no jeopardy. I've witnessed it. I've also been around a while....
