I might have missed it but does anyone have the breakdown of how many RAH planes are flying for DAL?
And if they were all pulled, what would we replace them with? MD88s? CRJ900s? E175s CPZ? The opportunities abound for Delta mainline pilots imho if its 88s or CPZ, but worries me is another DCI is about to get a big order of new 76 seaters when we had a chance to do it with at least CPZ (an airline we may one day have on our certificate). |

Well if you want that flying to be done by DAL pilots you'd better get on the horn with your reps and let them know. After attending today's council 44 meeting I got the distinct impression that the 44 reps don't give a $hit about that flying. Tell everyone you fly with that there is no reason why DAL pilots should not be flying a 76 seater at mainline and tell them to tell their reps because as of right now DALPA does not share the same view!!!!! |

I'm a Compass guy and you can make me number 5 on your list.
I would take a furlough if it meant having a Delta number. In the long run it would be a victory in the battle for getting some SCOPE back. The way I see it, the NWA guys were backed into a corner when Compass was created and now all of you at Delta have a chance to take some of it back. As far as the flowthrough/flowback; yes it would suck to be furloughed (again for many of us) but that's part of the deal and I would have no ill will towards any Delta pilot if that happens. For many of us, we were told that Compass was the way to Northwest when we interviewed here. I think most of the pilots here at Compass see the bigger picture. This is a topic of cockpit discussion with EVERYONE I fly with at least some point during every trip I fly. I'm also in favor of staying under the DAL MEC. thanks for responding to my invitation. I happy to hear what you're saying. I hope that we can make it through this time with no furloughs, but it's not pretty out there. Our MEC has paid little attention to many of us over the years with regard to SCOPE, but we're circling the wagons, making an impact at the LEC level and are trying to get our political ducks in a row. RAH purchasing Frontier and the recent acquisition of EMB-190's for MidWest may well be a "Sea Change" within our industry, Unions, Pilots groups. It's important for all of us to get involved. cfitstew, I ask you to invite your fellow Compass pilots into this dicussion. Although, I am but one Delta pilot, I know that I speak for many of us that we see this as a possible win-win for many of us. Also, I realize that your pilot group is very small in comparison to Delta, but please continue to make your voice heard at the LEC level. Thanks again for your response to my invitation. Respectfully, TC |
Superdad:
Can you give us a briefing? Did the resolution pass? ACL65: Hard to day trade while in the sim, but yes I bought RJET on Thursday and sold today while the LCA was pointing at the HGS explaining something to the Captain. Then I did a single engine missed while trying to figure out how much I made on the deal. CFITSTEW: Yes, welcome! Bring your friends. Talk to our Reps. We want you on board. |

It all comes down to politics and organization. Taken me a little time to realize it. TC |

I had planned on moving back East within a year or so, but perhaps I should get back sooner, maybe this next bid. If Council 44 is the "power-center" of our union, there has got to be some changes. This attitude CANNOT stand!!!!!!

Retain Delta MEC
I am a compass pilot also hired when NWA wasn't hiring and the only way was through Compass. Many of my friends subsequently were hired at NWA afterward. I became stuck at Compass. If only I would have waited a couple of months. Anyways.......
Upon flying the line here with all walks of life, I feel I can speak for the majority of the group pertaining to the MEC and furlough. A vast majority of us (except the "lifers") want to retain the Delta MEC and continue to flow through. We understand the risk/reward. The bummer for us: a furlough places us on the street without Delta seniority numbers. Basically we would become furloughed regional pilots with nothing to show for it except a shaky flow through agreement which could evaporate. That is the risk we all understand and have excepted it however scary it is for our families. FIGHT FOR SCOPE IT IS THE LIFELINE OF ALL CURRENT AND FUTURE PILOTS!!!!!! This airplane is a mainline plane. Those of you Delta guys should take a moment on a break at a base and take a look. Any Compass pilot would be happy to show you around. You might like what you see! It might even anger you that it isn't flown by a Delta pilot. I know I am angry! |
