IAH was like 2 guys to the plane and screw you for making us come out. Of course in EWR you just needed to take the initative and park yourself at the gate. But I left 3 years ago, it might be different now.

The staff at any airport in Mexico is an example of a huge social experiment. I think I counted nearly 30 people to work the aircraft in GDL two years ago. One employee was dedicated to holding the orange vest you need to wear on your walk around. That said, they all seem thrilled to have these jobs and really bust their butts to give good service.

Of course, because there are like 2,000 others who are willing to do the job for a few less pesos if they could.

Why does this quote feel like Groundhog Day? Has this been discussed before regarding our industry?

Shh... Don't give any ideas to the boys on the 4th floor. We all know we're "irreplaceable":)

And turn off your beacon. They (and the gate) won't approach your jet until its off. They're not making time until you ain't.

Wow, just looking at the February ER package. Tons of domestic pairings, I mean I don't know what the true quantity is just by whats in the package but I'm totally excited. I've wanted to do some domestic stuff just to get some cycles and landings in. And I want to beat VNAV into complete submission.

Wait... will I still be on the ER in February?

Unless you're in the DC-9. VNAV descents are standard. Most guys use FL CH below 10000 unless on a VNAV arrival. All fleets use VNAV approaches for any NP approach and most are now RNP (GPS) approach qualified.

I'm teasing. I was thinking about this joke coupled with ER guys don't land that often. I like a change of pace every so often, it'll be fun to get a domestic trip.
