I think that if guys can hold good lines in ATL they will bid here. Some may do reserve here if they can.
I say move here, I will gladly commute to a line on the 320!

I am ready for it. It will be my first time on 15 years where the airplane does not point to ATL. I did not know they knew how to go anywhere else!

Think call in honest, write Badden about it.

I think there's going to be a decent migration from dtw-nyc as well as dtw-atl.... talking do a few 330 guys out of dtw, many are NE commuters and itching to get to the ER.

ATL to DTW used to be a nightmare commute after the Republic merger and ATL was pulled down, though it has gotten seeing many of the senior green book guys have retired.

I think it may change to a large commuter route again, though.

As far as DTW, if you're driving an hour to your condo, that's too far. There are some very nice areas (Canton, Novi, Plymouth) that are only 20 minutes from the airport with very good deals. I wouldn't reccomend wasteland or Pontiac, though Livonia is good.

I like the fact that Greg likes your former call in honest policy.

Its directly proportionate to their age. The older cat farmers take the crap home, the younger ones (and I use that term relative to the fact that we have some in their 70s) take it and eat it enroute. As far as I'm concerned, they can have it. The steak isn't bad, the chicken's okay, the mushroom pasta will make you retch. If I was a million miler I'd be screaming at the top of my lungs.

On a side note, I love how we're doing the "crew meals" these days. A 5+29 block gets you bupkus. 5+30 and you're in.

Just a thought.....

SD mentioned that they were going to add 320 positions to SLC without subtracting positions from MSP. That means that there will be more positions than there are now. Well did he admit something with out admitting it......

If we are not increasing total positions company wide, we would need to cut positions from somewhere else. Me thinks that this was them admitting they were adding more positions than pilots. (Well hoping) ;)

I think the steak sucks. I like the Spare Ribs though. Chicken sucks as it is always dry. Now there is one pasta w.o the mushrooms that is not that bad. It is the tomato based one. Have you had that?
I also love the Godiva covered ice cream that they serve from JFK to LAX!

I noticed two things I'd never seen before:
Shadow bidder (shadowing whom?) and RES line with an (S) under the RES days....is that for short call?

satchip 11-16-2009 04:36 PM

Spent my entire layover in San Fran in bed puking and duking because of the chicken meal. Almost called in sick from there but realized I might not ever get home so I gutted it out...

Just took a look at the NY ER B schedule and man there are some heinous lines. Fly an all nighter back from the west coast and turn that night to an international trip. Is that legal? It sure ain't safe.

It's Baden, not Badden. Grapevine on my end says you should be writing to Dickson, Greg Baden already supports the DAL-N Call in Honest Policy. Dickson appears to be the one with cold feet.

My guess is it will take this xmas season and about a year after the next AE before they throw in the towel and give us the DAL-N policy. It will take that many cancelled flights over xmas and that many NEW commuters calling in sick from the DAL-S side before Dickson (and higher) will listen.

My $0.02, hope I am wrong about Dickson.
