DCI's getting what, 9 or 11 large RJ's in the summer quarter?

Last investor conference said 9 mainline airplanes and 2 large RJ's remain for capex this year. Mainline are 3 each of 777, 737-700 and MD-90. They also said that they were parking 30 RJ-50's during the rest of this year.

At the announcement of the merger last April there were 800 aircraft flying DCI Delta code. It's already below 700, and should hit just over 600 by the end of next year. The longer stage lengths and larger cabin 76 seat jets are masking that shrinkage of airframes.

Good to see RA jumping at Biden's comment regarding avoiding confined areas. Hopefully others will follow suit.

Of course some Americans are so bitter with the current Pres/Vice Pres combo they may fly just to spite Biden. ;) :p

I'm lovin' it ...

Starting today, all Delta employees and retirees are eligible to receive a 75% discount with FedEx on Priority and Standard Overnight, 2Day and International Priority shipping (subject to a minimum $6.00 charge per package). Just show your employee ID badge to access this terrific deal.

I just wonder is that is anywhere, or only at select locations. The last time we had this deal, it was only good down near the airport at the sort facility, not at the local package store.

its at the airport locations as far as i know and it only applies to overnight shipping i think. Its still a good deal though. I used it when i was at XJT and NWA, its very helpful when you need to get stuff shipped quick. I'm glad to see that its carrying over because i had heard we were going to lose it.

That's great - it sound identical to the standard "interline discount" I used with Fedex as a USAir Express employee years ago. I used to for next day, 2 day and international shipments and used it at a variety of locations, some not near an airport. I think you have to use a Fedex staffed office (ie: not a drop-off box) You can search for Fedex staffed locations at their website.

It's a great deal - remember, it's just like jumpseating: be pleasant at the counter and don't be a *ick.

Oh, I see the memo on DeltaNet.

If I remember correctly, this discount was Fedex's response to allowing their pilots to jumpseat on pax airlines.

Thanks Fedex!

We had one with DHL that was awesome a few years ago. I shipped some 30lb boxes next day by 10 for five bucks each.

FWIW,

I asked the lady at the local Kinkos/Fedex place today where I have used my NW id for a couple years now and she said the discount we've had at NW will soon translate to Delta. I think that means the local Fedex/Kinkos store will honor the discount....good deal.

Gotta move those purple aircraft drivers out of MEM so I guess they realized the benefit...

I used it a few days ago at a Fedex/Kinkos. I was shocked to hear the guy tell me DAL was in their system. 75% off overnight, 2-day, and international priority. A great discount
