So I guess that means I'll have a line next month. :)

I think all those planes were sitting around from the Saturday schedule decrease. It's Sunday now... I'll check and see if they're still sitting there today.

There still there....

I have noticed this several times in the last month or two on different days, all ERs with maybe a 777. I have done several turns where when we leave there are 7 - 9 aircraft parked there and when we get back they are almost all gone. I think they are parking them there during the day due to limited gate space and towing them over to E in time for the evening Int push.

I think we are just seeing the first wave of capacity reductions. Open time went from "WHOA, That's A LOT," to "nuth'n" on the 767 on May Second.

City of Atlanta charges us by the hour on the E gates. Mechanic at the TOC told me that's why we shuffle them around.

Warning Flame Bait Alert

Ok, not really flame bait but a controversial post. I was in Rome yesterday and the gate agents who have been working Delta flights for years were complaining about the Airbus 330s that we have been putting on the ATL-ROM leg. They said that it is so weight limited that you can't fill it with people and cargo. If you use all the seats they could only put on 2000 lbs of cargo. They even had to put half of the Bus's ATL pax bags on the ER going to NY.

If this is true the future of the Bus IMHO is limited. Our network guys love the belly cargo. I have been told that some routes the belly would make a profit and the pax are just gravy. I don't see those guys sticking with a plane that doesn't give them that option. Maybe there are some routes out there that the Bus is better suited?

Any truth to this, Bus guys? Not trying to start a war, just passing on an anecdote.

Sounds like an issue that I had with an old girlfriend, but I guess that's another story....

We are just parking them there when they are not in use. With our frequency changes we need room to park em boys when we are not using them.
Do not worry they will all be gone one day and there the next. Been doing it for some time.

Did she at least pro rate for minutes under and validate parking?

I got back from Rome the other day too, and heard the same thing...
