I think he means that the -200s and ANC are not going to be involved in the SOC merge.

It means what they just announced. The 742 will not be brought to the Delta Operating Cert.
Em boys are headed to VCV.

Can you White Slip Out of base a month in advance or do you have to wait until the date is closer?

Thanks

Weed,
Also, there is a good discussion of out of base white slips on the DALPA site, under scheduling.

How many pilots will the closing of the ANC base displace? It looks like if they close it in Dec 2009 it might just be post SOC which will allow them to displace into SLC and LAX.

The memo stated about 300.

How are all these guys going to be absorbed into pax flying? I'm sure that management has known about this since the merger was announced so that leads me to believe that this was included in their current staffing plans. Word is that they are happy with current staffing, so I guess these guys will just be absorbed. I think if they are offered good buyouts you will see some guys hang their hats. The Freighter side is a different world, and I'm not sure some of those guys want to live on the pax side.

All I can say is what you said. They talked about this at the town all meetings and added that with this there were no plans for furloughs.
As I stated, they stated that, there are going to be major inefficiencies for us as we get to where we need to be. Best guess was two years of AE's to put the pilots where the jets are.

Good point - the extra bodies might allow Delta to train lots of people without being really tight in manning.

Then Dec 2010. If they hit that target, I'll be impressed.

There is no reason why they would announce furloughs early. As US Air learned as they went far below min staffing as furloughs began and pilots used sick time and other benefits that would be lost if not used.

Just saw a flash ad for DELTA on APC. DELTA is a sponsor of APC?
