If they furlough after 747-200's are gone, does it only matter if before or after SOC if it is only Delta S or N people?

If they furlough at all, it will be post SOC. It appears that these guys might even get to displace post SOC which will allow them to come into the DAL-S aircraft and bases. Not a good thing for us west coast DAL-S guys, but I would do the same thing if I were them so you can't blame them. Hoping to hold onto reserve in SLC or LAX so I don't have to commute to MSP. |
FOX business says todays "Stock of the DAY" is DAL! The reporter even said she flew into JFK on DAL in "Monsoon" weather and the pilots did a "great job, Go Delta Pilots"!! LOL

The deadzoners are about maxed out by all of this already. I understand. While none of this has cost them anything yet, watching others get handed gifts while they got hit in bankruptcy and hit again by the market is more than some of them can take.
It's politically touchy to remind them they enjoyed rapid career progression when those above them bailed out. There is a silver lining for the deadzoners (and all of us) in the early outs. Bucking Bar, When you remind a deadzoner of his rapid career advancement keep in mind two things. First his number did go way up. The equipment that number could hold did not move so fast with the phaseout of a large number of widebody aircraft at Delta. Second that gain was very short lived. By Dec of 07 when the age 60 rule changed the vast majority of pilots who took the early out would have been forced out by age 60. The total overall bump pilots enjoyed for a few years was not near what many believe. I could have held 7ER Captain prior to 2001 as a lineholder. Thats all I can really hold now and not get raped by PBS! |

Smart money by the company is to only train once if you have a choice...... |

And if they displace pre-SOC off of the -200, it will all be moot after the base realignment AE bid any ways except for additional training cycles.
Smart money by the company is to only train once if you have a choice...... Correct. Post SOC it is going to be a lot of fun to watch these boards. For the DAL-N guys besides the 9 what other jets and bases do you think will go junior? |

For the DAL-N guys besides the 9 what other jets and bases do you think will go junior? DTW at one point had 80% commuters. A lot of them commute from Florida and the East Coast. I can't see those guys flying over Atlanta and driving past New York to get on an airplant to get to work in DTW. Those who commute to MSP, I think are majority West Coasters who can't hold SEA. I can't imagine them passing SLT or driving past LAX to get to the frozen tundra. As far as aircraft go, I think pay and size will rule supreme in both bases. Contrarty to popular belief back pre-SLI days, a lot of our new hires had strong ties to MSP, so I think they will try to stay or get there at all cost. So, the junior positions will be a little more senior in MSP, if that makes sense. 747-400 B positions have always been just as senior or more senior than DC-9 A and 320 A positons and I don't expect that to change. But, the real question is where the company will put the airplanes and where they will fly? That will determine who bids what and when. What do you see on that end? |

I see ATL getting bigger, DTW getting smaller, and all the bases in between getting mixed about.
ATL will get way senior, no doubt about that. That is what we are seeing. I am just curious how many of your guys are going to be willing to commute to JFK for the 765 or 330. |

So to answer your question, I think the junior position will be MD-88/90 B or A-320 B in DTW. Sorry.
