Heads Up MSP Commuters

The new training hotel (Crown Plaza in St Paul) is almost twice as expensive as the Comfort Inn was. As I recall, last year for CQ I paid $70 something (maybe just under $80?) at the Comfort but the best rate I could get at the Crown for Delta Integration trainging was $139 ($150 something out the door). Guess this year for CQ I I'll stay at the LaQuinta and rent a car.

Also, with distances involved and the only van to and from the airport to hotel at 30 minutes, you will have to leave more time getting out to the training center.

Why you mention MEM commuters? The above pricing only affects MSP based pilots.

True that!! I had just gotten on here to change the title, sorry.

It's just for us MSP guys paying for the hotel out of our own pockets.

the good thing about the old hotel was free breakfast, Internet, coffee, and multiple vans to and from NATCO to either the hotel or airport.

havent been to the new yet though.

You forgot to mention that Dennys had a bar. I was looking forward to having the new Grand Slamwhich and a beer. "Livin' the dream"...

Ok, not really flame bait but a controversial post. I was in Rome yesterday and the gate agents who have been working Delta flights for years were complaining about the Airbus 330s that we have been putting on the ATL-ROM leg. They said that it is so weight limited that you can't fill it with people and cargo. If you use all the seats they could only put on 2000 lbs of cargo. They even had to put half of the Bus's ATL pax bags on the ER going to NY.

If this is true the future of the Bus IMHO is limited. Our network guys love the belly cargo. I have been told that some routes the belly would make a profit and the pax are just gravy. I don't see those guys sticking with a plane that doesn't give them that option. Maybe there are some routes out there that the Bus is better suited?

Any truth to this, Bus guys? Not trying to start a war, just passing on an anecdote.

That's interesting. I remember VP of Cargo saying he's very excited because A330 can carry more cargo than the ER.

Heard a rumor from a JFK ER F/O that if there is an early retirement program offered and if it is mostly fNWA guys that take and it happens before SOC that NWA would like to "revisit" the seniority list construction based on removing the newly retired guys from the original list...ie "pull out" the ret. guys then re-do the list from scratch without them.

I say we start a new thread, let it be ongoing, and title it "Flamebait." Mods can automatically move stuff like this there.

Flame.
It is over and that is it.

Their will probably be some type of early out.
