Airline Pilot Central Forums - Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?

Probably not too many... as a matter of fact, unless a guy has vacation, or is on short or long STD... he will probably work more than 6 days between now and the end of August. Not me though... I did 8 North Atlantic crossings in the first 14 days of the month... good thing all my X days were at the end. Ahhhh yes... reserve is sooooo wonderful. :cool:

You're going to make me cry. Some of us wouldn't mind doing those crossings. I would agree with your first: beware of guys bragging about how much time they have off. Better to not give them the time of day.

Interesting since they were to cut 27 positions from ATL. See crew resources does have a heart!

Questions is how many did they really cut off the 767 domestic?

I only count 9 pilots moved out of ATL on a MD. Its roughly 38 or so on a VD or 47 in total, using public school math which is not reliable.

NYC 7ER B is slowly creeping more and more senior. Slowly. Its going back to I think January 08 if I am reading it right. So I creep, yeah, creeping on the down low. They always said that'd happen. But for some, the really junior folks, the idea of I'll go to NYC and hold a line is harkening back to summer 08, not summer 09.

You can paper toss, bowl, ping pong, scorched earth your way across the Atlantic and then use skype on the other side, although I haven't tried the skype thing.

It all works great. Get at least the 16 GB. Lets you have a few movies, all of your music and a ton of games. Makes the time go by!

BTW make sure if you use your phone over there, that 1) you have a international calling plan and 2) that the country you are in is part of the plan. Had a bud forget to check on one trip and the call home cost him 500 bucks!

Best deal going is Skype. All you need is a free wifi signal and the skype app. Open an account with $10, and you can use your iPhone to call just about anywhere for around 2 cents/min. Do be sure to go to settings and Disable Data Roaming or your phone may pick up stray data signals that will cost you a bundle. I know from experience dude.:D
