BP5 for the 744 is Sept, so are you saying that they will not be in compliance in Sept?

Not sure on the contractual requirement. Since most of them are RD's, I wonder if any of them are current enough to get the short course (I doubt they would be).

True.
Lots of good times ahead! |

One more thing.
If 64 bucks an hr is below you budget, remember what you were making a year if not two ago. You can easily make 75K on that rate. Trust me. Remember you come in on the top of the list. |

True. That is good. Also they may be a result of who has submitted paperwork. Remember that.

Damn. I'm going to hate waiting around for that AE to be published, reading this forum, hiting refresh (F5) on icrew over and over.
My a/c and roof have gotten the memo about possible furloughs... they all passed a motion that they want to be replaced before July. Nice. |

Hey, at your house, you are the MEC chairman. Take a cue from Dear Leader and ignore the will of your house. Tell your roof to suck it up and leak. The oldest, most senior floorboard in the living room isn't the one being leaked on, after all, so how important can the leak be??

ACL,
To make 75K a year on a $64 rate, you'd have to credit 97hrs a month. You'd time out before that would even happen. You have to remember that Compass doesn't have a premier contract. I have issues with picking up open time knowing people are on furlough. By taking the hours, you are allowing the company to run lean, keeping people on the street. Good luck getting that type of credit over the backs of other pilots. Also the idea of being a senior pilot isn't quite true. Not every furloughed DAL pilot is going to be senior if they were to go to Compass. It would only take an estimated 335 flowbacks (the current number of pilots there from APC) to take the most junior FO spot over there. Compass isn't that large. That leaves only about 170 CA spots. $34/hr, going junior enough to be on reserve, and commuting is what I am worried about if I were to go there. Even if you kept a junior CA spot and you did pick up flying to get a higher credit, I think it would be extremely difficult commuting on short call reserve with 11 days off. The questions I asked about the flowback weren't about what I thought about the planes, but rather so I can be informed on if it were a smart choice to go to Compass. I'd like to know if it is a one shot deal, if you could go there to see if it is worth it, etc... I'd love the plane to be at mainline, love to fly it, but it needs to make finacial sense for me to go over there. I appreciate the information you place on the board, but not everyone is in the same position as you are. |
