Negligent, either by accident or design, incompetent, or with manevolence...it doesn't matter....if that's their position on scope, it's a grave danger to all our careers, and they gotta go. Nu TC |

Heyas ACL,
Counting on UAL or LCC to go tango uniform is a BAD idea. As for Council 44, and LM, maybe it would be useful for the Council 44 guys to decide who has to go, don't you think? Doesn't look good to interfere with another council's elections, especially across the shoe line, before SOC. I share your interest in working on scope issues, but I don't think it's right to suggest that the current administration is soft on that topic. I know some of the people you mention, and their attitude is not what you portray. I've never heard them say that scope is either unimportant, or "manageable". And if a person that knows them were to speak on their behalf, they would never use words such as "negligent", "incompetent", or "malevolent". |

I like the fact that the union has gone on record stating that they have a business plan that works for the 100 seat jet. I want to see it, but at least they have done an E and A one it.
I also do not care if the company sees the RJ as sell limiting. The past has shown us that we need to have it limited in the PWA. The lower the better. BTW I thought management made biz plans and ALPA protected and defended? |

I said IF that is their position. If not, then the rest doesn't apply. If that IS their position, then it doesn't matter which of those descriptions, if any, is correct, as we're screwed no matter what. From some stories and reports, LM is said to have stated to the effect that the cost discount at CPZ is good for us, and that RJs are good for the airline. IF TRUE, those are not the words of a "Scope Hawk", but someone who is willing to trade bucks for any number of Buck Rogers. Nu |

The MEC has a viable 100 seat biz plan? Wow. Cutting edge. Did they just figure that out? NWA has been flying them for like decades? How about a 76 seat plan?
BTW I thought management made biz plans and ALPA protected and defended? Nu PS Hint: 10 of them are still in the desert. |

Anyone ask them if that plan involves Delta pilots?
BTW asked a Rep about said plan and had not heard, or should say DAL-N (current 100 seat oerators) had not heard. Not invented here is alive and well..... |

GASP! Don't forget the 78 seat plan that NWA had...with a common type rating, common parts and all!
Nu PS Hint: 10 of them are still in the desert. That unfortunately was given up in the form of a 76 seat plan (36 to XJ and 36 to CPZ)... And yes, after much prodding, the union stated publicly at the LEC 44 meeting that they have a "viable 100 seat plan." |

Heyas ACL,
Word on this side re:the 5500 series jives with yours. Not going anywhere. Fleet is preparing to put the printers and dual cue flight directors in. Nu The 5500 series semi-jives with our older series.... the 5500 doesnt have RTO, no heading ref switch (not that that matters), requires significant structural change for winglets (DAL ships 648, 649, and 650 have winglets installed, even though they are of the older series)... plus a few others differences. Even our newer series planes aren't plumbed for an HMG, unlike the 5600 and TWA birds. There's no reason to not keep the 5500 series around, though- not all 757 missions need winglets. I absolutely agree with what you said about management's lines...they will say whatever they politically need to say to get what they want until they can't get it. |
Branson's nicely accessorized a Delta pilot uniform, but he better get that hat on!
Branson, in a Delta uniform? When did we hire this yahoo? |
