Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
You have to read what he is actually saying. He is saying basically once we allow something to be outsourced, we have agreed that it is gone...It is no longer our job, it is the other guys.
He is not saying anything else.
We cannot strike over status quo - no changes from what is already in section 1.

I agree he did not say very well what (I perceived) he was trying to say...that never happens on here.
Pride commeth before the fall, try to reel it in a little.
The RJ pilots are not the enemy. I am anti-outsourcing, but getting emotional about it, or personal about it, doesn't serve anyones interests.

Yeah... not sure why there is a pile on Mesabah. I read it all too, he seemed to merely be pointing out kinda obvious stuff, certainly nothing to get worked up about. Maybe he was wrong on some of it, who cares... he wasn't lobbying a huge point trying to convince anyone of something, just making a standard 10% correct internet forum post. Lotta attacking going on for nothing... Hell, I read here every day and am pretty smart, but could not probably put together 2 pages of 100% correct info about our contract/scope relationships.
I do understand the "slow day, bored, might as well post on APC debating some minor point" syndrome, this post being a fine example of it also
In the entire spectrum of players in our industry, there's no one so down-trodden or "not responsible" as the RJ pilots IMO. Blaming them for, well, anything, is just so totally asinine. Seriously, look at their situation--hired on where they could get a job, building hours/experience for Burger King wages, constantly losing their seniority as their companies fold/shrink/re-open as new companies.
As a 11 year Delta guy, with over 5 years furlough and stagnated to the point I still have a seniority number below what the company says it needs to staff the airline, I STILL feel waaay better about my position than that of the RJ guys. Attacking RJ guys for anything about scope is like beating baby seals for looking good when made into a coat.
That being said, I'm in favor of total scope recapture, and want everything above 50 seats at the mainline.

I'm not personal or emotional with anyone on an anonymous aviation chat board. Logical yes but personal heck no. I know Mesabah is not the enemy but his posts were beyond wrong so I called him on it. I don't normally debate stuff here but it was a slow day on short call at the crash pad. Now I know why I don't engage here to often. I could post a clever analogy but it wouldnt meet TOS nor be politicall correct. Nonetheless, thanks for backing Mesabahs nonsense.
Fwiw Mesaba has been making this argument/ position for years. Look at his post history.

I don't follow your logic in the discussion. Maybe it is because you did not present any. No one would argue that section 1 is not part of the contract. If you would like to present an arguement or logic, maybe you could share with us when someone struck over scope...or even got close.
I am not backing Mesabah's nonsense. I believe also that you got personal and emotional when you put his post on the tool board. IMO, and I could be alone, but you came off as the (fill in the blank) doing that.
They changed the picture on the Pilot Selection page from a 747 to a 737.
MUST mean big things are in the works!
Or...
Short call has got the best of me, I've gone insane, and I have WAY to much time on my hands.
