Bid -> Advanced Entitlement -> Posting of pilot vacancies and surplus positions

In case you don't yet have access there was nothing posted for LAX, 40 FO in the 73N for SEA, and 10 A320 F/O positions in SLC.

Thanks again! I'm assuming I have to get through indoc for the icrew account? I'm awaiting a class date.

You will be able to access icrew the first or second day of indoc. You will be able to bid on any bid that comes out after your first day of indoc.

Not long. I'll bet anyone who wants the west coast will get there within a year, probably sooner. There have been some unfilled positions on previous bids and this bid adds a minimum of at least 35 B positions (25 SEA 73N and 10 SLC 320B).

I am assuming the bid winners are always the senior bidder, correct?

From what I see, it looks like I will start in New York or Atlanta. I eventually want to get international out of LAX or SEA. I have family overseas. I guess it makes sense to try to get an aircraft in New York or Atlanta that will get me a good schedule soon and then transfer to the west coast after I get a little bit more senior....

Or if given the opportunity, do I try to fly and widebody out of Atlanta so I can just change locations? I hesitate with that, because it sounds like a new ER FO is hurting in Atlanta.

Please make sure you put your bid in regardless of what the posting shows. If guys bid out of LA or SEA they could very well do some backfilling into spots that don't show on the AE. You could get a pleasant surprise!

Wow!

When you think about it after 6 years of nothing but backwards (for me, others have endured more than I, except Denny!) movement...........those CHOICES are pretty sweet!

Congrats and welcome to mother D!:D

Thank you so much. It feels like I won the lottery ticket to the next 25 years of my life as a pilot. As I made my way to Atlanta for the interview, I talked to roughly 30 Delta employees and everybody from the ground guys to the pilots couldn't stop saying how much they love the company and what a great time it is to be in it.

A little dose of reality this morning, the number of people bidding SEA in front of me went from 0-1 additional bidder per day to double overnight :). Guess I won't have to worry about those high real estate prices.

If you are using that count pilots senior to you function on the deltanet then it will drive you crazy. That just uses seniority it doesn't take in to account if the bidder had qualifiers in on the bid (i.e. only reg line holder or a certain low number for category). Not to mention how fickle pilots can be. I don't know how many bids I've pulled 15 minutes before they close. In today's environment you truly need to bid what you want and want what you bid. I've been here almost 15 years and I've never seen the amount of hiring that we are doing right now and this last bid had some major widebody FO positions on it.
