Mike, did you mean "Hub"? Our scope protections have language about code sharing in/out of our "Hubs", not our domiciles. Right now, SEA is not a 'Hub' and we are still code sharing with Alaska in SEA.

As more Delta mainline flying is added to SEA, the code sharing with Alaska will be cut back, and hopefully in the next TA we will add SEA to our other 'Hub' cities.

Oh, and on the virtual base thing, you are right, the company wants it for several reasons; it would save them a bunch of money on hotels, crews deadheading, and manning. It would require fewer pilots, and save them money, just like everything else in the TA the company wanted.

Ty. My terminology was bad which I know is important, glad somebody was able to translate my meaning.

I realize that virtual basing would save the company money, but you could make the same arguments against using green slips. Granted, green slips increase pay (for some), but virtual basing would really improve qol for many.

I'm not for or against virtual basing, just trying to get a grasp of all sides of the issue.

Atlanta North-side towns

Gents, if you live or have lived on the north side of Atlanta, I'm looking for pros/cons of the various towns there. I know the traffic is a major negative, so don't need you to mention it. Looking more for info on cost of housing, land, taxes, and which towns up that way you'd recommend.

I'm interested in info about Johns Creek, Milton, East Cobb, Roswell, and any others up there I should be considering.

Probably going to send the kids to Catholic school, so if you have recommendations in that category too, fire away.

Feel free to PM if you don't want to post here. Thanks all.

Anybody LAX based make the AUS to LAX commute? A lot of OAL options to get to work. Also the time zones allow for an earlier sign in time.

The company believes it would save money in only a few limited situations all of which are widebody international flights.

4.......since the compass service came on line getting to and from AUS is not much of problem. I have gotten back and forth on and off line.

in a pinch....there is also service to LGB out of AUS.

introduce yourself to the agents in AUS....they take real good care of commuters.
