Everyone knows that Jumpseat tales can get pretty far out there.

Call our pro-Stan's about it. Give the name of our pilot that is making these claims in the jumpseat and I'll pay up. We'll fix our issues in house. But like I said its a far fetched rumor.

Seniority integration? Really? What idiot would ever say or think that? Based on history when has a major buying out a regional ever gone in a positive direction for the regional pilots? If your flying at a regional it should not take long to know a few rules. #1 Don't ever expect equal and fair treatment from the majors. Your just a regional pilot. #2 The majors gave up their scope but as a regional pilot you should still accept some of the blame for the downfall of the industry and loss of jobs at the majors. #3 No matter how bad, unsafe or unacceptable of a pilot you may be, its still ok to represent a major airline at the regionals. The flying public can tell the difference.
I think its all supposed to change after you pass a test and interview at a major. Then your allowed to ridicule and make fun of the nasty regional pilots that are obviously trying to ruin the careers of the major pilots and trying to cheat sneak there way in.

Actually our Pro-Stan's takes this very seriously. You can get it fixed at the source or you can whine about it here. IMHO it's whining about something that never happened. We all know IF we get the job it's at the bottom of the list. Thanks Capt Obvious.

So what's next? Calling Pro-Stan because I don't like the jumpseaters Political view? I'm saying that the Capt who didn't like the conversation should have curbed it right there. I sure wouldn't ask for a JS on an RJ and go off the entire flight on how crappy they are and that Mainline should be flying them.

Ask for the ride, sit down & shut up. Kinda simple.

Baja.

Agree.

Which means the CA either curbs it right then and there and/or takes it through proper channels.

But it's amazing how many pilots can't do what you said, whether regional or mainline.

They're usually too dumb to realize that all the crap happened WAY above the (pre concession/pre BK) pay grades of EVERYONE in the cockpit combined.

Thing is, we did not take it seriously. We just kinda chuckled about it later ... pro stans or JS committee s are for problems and this was not a problem for anybody.

Well good job stirring the pot and getting Baja and Jet all riled up. Lol glad the laughing goes both ways.

Or the same ATP study guide that told you how to properly declare an emergency after above said dicking around caused your turbines to flameout? Or was that not mentioned in the "Turbine Pilots Flight Manual"?

That test came about as a result of the FL410 accident. It was just the old test with some questions from the turbine pilots flight manual added in.

If someone thinks that is the DL technical test, they'll be hoping to reapply again in 6 months.

learn the rule: your / you're
  • your is a possessive adjective, indicating ownership of something
    • That is your sock.
    • Where is your potato?
  • you're is a contraction (combination) of you and are
    • Do you know what you're doing?
    • You're stupid.
  • The two are not interchangeable.
  • Getting it wrong makes you look stupid. And ugly.
I guess I'm stupid and ugly
