FWIW, I bought the naval aviators book and the mental math book. Never opened the mental math one and made it a paragraph into the naval aviators one. The gouge you can find online for formulas and concepts they want you to know is much more concise and less likely to give you a brain tumor.

The books haven't been touched since and are currently boring the spiders to death in the basement.

Man, I was so lost in the computer testing I gave up and started laughing!! Delta still hired me... so dont get too wrapped around the axle just do YOUR thing!!:D

That was my next question, what kind of weight do these tests really have on the final outcome. I'm obviously going to study everything there is, do my best to answer the interview questions and hope my résumé speaks for itself.

As I recall there is no "weight" given to the test you just have to pass them. Someone else might be able to verify this but I believe that you must get a minimum of 70% for any specific section and 80% minimum overall. This applies to the knowledge and cognitive tests and is my recollection from the 2007-2008 hiring time frame, I do not know if this has changed since.

Did Pinnacle pilots take the tests as part of their Pinnacle interview? Will pilots of DCI carriers who have previously passed the tests to Delta standards have to retake the tests as part of the interview process?

The objective - to add so many moving parts that the coin toss result is lost in obscurity leaving you feeling they had justification in not hiring you.

Pinnacle pilots are telling very senior Delta Captains that "we already have seniority numbers" and "we will be flying next to you." Apparently, they've already got it all worked out and only need to show up, accept their entitlement and be given a hat to lose.

Next time I fly with a senior "haven't seen my mailbox in 10 years" commuter, I'm going to fall right into line; "Dude, yeah check it, flew a CRJ until three weeks ago and then like this download showed up in my box. You must be doing my IOE, so that's cool, light beer in a can is cool."

Not the same test but similar to an ATP with questions related to general jet engines and high altitude flying (test started around 2005, i believe). The Turbine Pilots Flight Manual was the go to guide for the written...if you read that and studied for the ATP, you were golden.

More than one.

Probably not the same person, but you can look right here on this board and find Pinnacle pilots who state they're expecting some sort of seniority integration which recognizes their longevity.

Don't want to argue about it. It is what it is, and it is funny.

Many Pinnacle Pilots have said this, there's also numerous posts on our web boards saying it.
