Sorry for the unclear statement: 2001N=2007S. In your case 2001S=1999N.

Yeahbut...they said the same things in 1991, 2000 and 2008.

It's all good, until the next disaster, ie. another middle east conflict, or terrorists hijack airplanes, or the next housing bubble pops, or a tsunami hits Japan, or LAX, or there's an oil price spike, or another merger. But for anyone to say we will hire 600/yr. for the next 10-17 years is straight up bull...ony.

At least we are finally hiring, how long it will last is anyone's guess, and nobody, JG included, knows for sure.

Due to all of the above factors, every hiring cycle I've seen at Delta since 1985 has lasted about 5 years, or less, let's hope this one lasts forever, but don't count on it.

I've been working! Haven't been by the GO, but that's an astute observation. Barely got on the last flight to MSP last night.

Sage advice. The market's always in flux. Plus experience counts in this case.

Seattle is not only a popular base, but you're talking being able to hold widebody international flying. Right now, I'd guess 5 to 10 years. But, things can change quickly if we actually grow. Staffing for new A330's could open up some slots middle to late next year. But, the Company's plan is to entice 767 International bubbas into these and other "upgrades" rather than have to displace them as our 757 fleet begins renewal with 737-900's.

LAX should be where the junior West Coast action is.
Actually, these days SLC is much more junior for 73N FO's.

Not since the last displacement bid, Buzz. The bottom 10 guys in LAX can't hold SLC. Granted, it's magnified for those of us on the very bottom, but even you'd lose some relative seniority if you came to SLC.

I think he was talking about the 2001 North hires being slotted behind 2007 South hires.

Bluto, love you but that's not accurate. The bottom guy in LA is 11114. The plug in SLC is 11667. My relative standing in LA is at the 65% mark. In SLC, I'd be at 55%. I'd get a nice bump coming to the Lake and am considering it.

As a matter of fact, the young guys getting displaced out of LA end up in SLC.

Sorry Buzz. Look at the Nov category list and the bid results from the great ER displacement a few months back. There's nobody on the 73NB displaced from LAX to SLC right now. As of next month, the SLC plug is 1091X. You'd be 69/102 in SLC; 67%. If I'm wrong here, I'm commuting (displaced) for no good reason!
