Can anybody explain why the most junior 73N ATL lineholder is about the same seniority number as the most junior 717 ATL lineholder? (or is the Aug and Sep sched not typical?) Also, they say they are going to give out what 78 73Ns to new hires? Which is about the same as 717s. I guess I am not seeing how you will be stuck longer as the plug in the 73N.
The ATL73NB is really low on reserves right now. AUG and SEP have had a lot of flying and few reserves for that category. The 717 has been building up the category and has a lot of guys on reserve, so the junior line is much more senior in the category than what would be "normal". The 73N has traditionally been more senior than the M88/DC9/717 because it pays more and has better trips (and better cockpit than the M88 and DC9). I don't think that anyone will be "stuck as the plug" so long as the hiring continues, but overall, you'll likely be more junior on the 73N than the 717. The big unknown is what will the new M88/717 guys do when their 1 year seatlock is over? |

Sort of. There have been some people that get to take the MMPI AGAIN (twice), then they receive the "cleared to train".

There's a definite fatigue factor caused by all that racket. The Mad Dog and the bigger Boeings are like a church sanctuary by comparison. |

Better avionics maybe, but the noise level is atrocious on the 737s.

Amen Check! The 737 is loud up front and it's a 2 hour flight deck strapped to a 7 hour gas tank.

Correct me if I am wrong but....with the ssp you have to be a current captain. With them approaching the end of the Captain list for the ssp and no upgrades in sight aren't they going to be done with ssp interviews in the next few months? Combining this with the mesaba flow being over wouldn't that stop the required hiring numbers of Endeavor pilots? If someone knows for sure plz chime in.

Tier Description?
I understand that Delta uses a "Tier" system in ranking potential candidates. Does anyone know what makes up a Tier? I've read that Delta is currently interviewing Tier 1 candidates; what are the credentials that make up Tier 1? Also has anyone who had an interview scheduled that was canceled when hiring was suspended last time been called for an interview? I had a interview scheduled and I received an email telling me it was canceled. Anyone else in the same situation? |

Also, equalizing the new hires on the 717, M88, 73N and about 108 to the ER, allows DAL to hire more new hires per month. If they are able to throw new hires in to more fleets at the same time. It allows more initial programs to be simultaneously occurring, thus increasing thru-put in the training pipeline. |
