RA must keep his word that there is no better deal, no money on the table. He has to, or every group will unionize.

To me, this means any [more pay? sick leave improvements?] will be offset by FURTHER concessions so he can claim that he wasn't steamrolled by the rank and file.

We've got to keep a close watch on the details. MD11 have proven they are NOT on our side. They have gone completely rogue.

They will try to sneak new concessions in, and gloss over them while trumpeting a few more schekels and some minor eyewash tweaks in sick leave.

Did you read the Chairman's letter T?

If you don't think there's already another deal, with all the evidence of self protection and if you think the MEC is being honest with you and that Jerry is trying to mislead you, then I understand your gauntlet throwing.

Jerry may or may not get everything right, but he has been the canary in the coal mine and has been more right than you so far. So, rather than shoot the messenger, why not shoot the people you pay 1.9% to not represent you.

Maybe you should wake up to the reality that we are being duped by people we pay.

1. *The yes voters on the MEC are digging in. They have said "We hear you. You're wrong, but we hear you. There is no more money on the table." They are doubling down.

2. *They will claim the *8 no voters somehow colluded and made a coordinated effort against the TA through the use of social media. Yeah, right. They were the ones. Not the 3000 people who signed up for the FB page, not the pilots on ChitChat, or Twitter, or TAFacts.com, etc. THEY coordinated all that. I just happen to know who DID do all that, and it WASN'T them.

3. *The FPL positions (10) to counteract any MEC recall efforts is true. This will be discussed at the meeting next week.*

If you have a problem with any of these issues, please call and email your reps if you are in a council that is affected by recalls. No need to flood the good guys on these issues. They are on top of it, I'm sure.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

In any large group of people there are going to be differing opinions and everybody has their own priorities. I have been getting quite a few messages from people that told me that they voted yes, but now are down right mad that they did. They admitted that they believed all of the hype from the heavy sales pitch, and the doom and gloom message from the CEO. Then the earning report came out!

Many of them say that they now realize that the rush to get a vote on this last TA was to keep us from hearing the continued good new about our company and its' future.

They are starting to realize that some of our own representation by presenting us this last TA, are saying,"We are going to give all of the money that you are working so hard for to the wealthy stock holders and upper management, and you can't have any!"

As they are starting to look back at what this last TA was really about, and why they were rushed, the quick 8% is starting to be seen as a bribe to sell out their fellow pilots!

Again, let me state that you, the pilots of Delta Air Lines are the golden goose, so why is the company and ALPA trying to wrap their hands around your neck and strangle the life out of the very thing that is producing their golden eggs?

The company knows full well that there is a pilot shortage. If the last TA had passed, it would have caused an even greater reason for new pilots not to come into this field.

I understand why the company would send us this contract, upper management are doing like they always do. They build the company up and cash out after they have squeezed the life out of our hard work and robbed us of any hard won gains. What I don't understand is why the yes voting ALPA reps and the MEC would want to sell us out so badly.

You don't have to be a math major to see how much money that Delta is making and how good the environment is.

Delta reports quarterly earnings:

Delta Air Lines reported $1 billion in adjusted net income, or $1.27 per share, during the second quarter, the company announced Wednesday.
That profit, based on lower-than-expected fuel prices and other operational savings, was 22% higher than the same months of April, May and June in 2014. The company returned $1 billion to shareholders through dividends and share buybacks.
"Delta's record results have allowed the company to invest in its employees through higher wage rates and profit sharing; improve the experience for our customers through new aircraft and innovative partnerships with global carriers; and uniquely deliver value for our shareholders by accelerating our capital returns while also paying down debt," CEO Richard Anderson said in a statement.
Delta completed 99.8% of its flights during the quarter, with 43 days with zero cancellations for the mainline carrier, Anderson said.
"We continue to run the industry's best operation by far," Anderson told analysts.
J.P. Morgan analysts said the earnings beat expectations of a consensus of $1.21 per share. But in looking to the third quarter, analysts project earnings of about $1.65 per share based in part on fuel costs and also on pilots ratifying their contract, which hasn't happened yet.
Delta's earnings "modestly exceeded" estimates, according to Morgan analysts Jamie Baker and Mark Streeter.
On Friday, Delta pilots rejected a tentative contract with the company. Nearly two-thirds of pilots (65%) voted against the deal, with some voicing concerns about reduced profit-sharing.
Anderson said Wednesday the pilots are key stakeholders and leaders in the company, and that they would continue to work together.
"We were disappointed our pilots turned down the agreement," Anderson said. "We will continue to work together with them to find common solutions."
Delta's passenger revenue was relatively flat at $10.7 billion, or 0.8% higher than the same period a year earlier. While domestic passenger revenue grew 4.9%, passenger revenue for the Pacific region declined 11.8% and the Atlantic region declined 6.9%.
Delta is discussing investing in Japan's bankrupt Skymark Airlines, which would give the company greater access to that market. American Airlines has a joint-venture with Japan Airlines and United Airlines has a joint venture with All Nippon.
But Delta President Ed Bastian said Japan has unique attributes to investing that the carrier is still investigating.
"We're in the discussion phase," Bastian said.
Delta said it is strengthening its partnership with Gol Airlines in Brazil, and agreed to buy $56 million in preferred shares from the carrier and guarantee $300 million in carrier borrowing.
"We have the foundation for the strongest network in Latin America," Anderson said, combined with the relationship with Aeromexico.
Low fuel prices were a major factor in Delta's performance, with second-quarter costs totaling $463 million, which was lower than the same period in 2014.
Anderson said significant fuel savings in the current quarter should allow Delta to announce more record profits in July, August and September. Fuel expenses are projected at $1.90 to $2 per gallon for the rest of the year, the company said.
"Our commercial initiatives continue to gain traction in the marketplace and we will produce summer margins in excess of any achieved in our history," Bastian said.
Airline executives said the dispute with pilots shouldn't affect flights. The union's executive council plans a July 21 meeting to discuss strategy.
"We really need to hear back from them. I think the overarching story is that we have an incredible track record with them," Anderson said. "The relationship is still strong."
The performance extended a profitable streak of nine straight quarters for the airline. In the first quarter, Delta reported $746 million in net income, or 90 cents per share. The company returned $500 million to shareholders through dividends.
Delta is the first among major airlines to announce second-quarter earnings after the Justice Department announced that it was collecting information about possible collusion to limit competition.
But Delta announced in May that it would continue plans to boost competition in Seattle, which generated criticism from some Wall Street analysts.
Anderson declined comment on the Justice inquiry, but he said the airline provides "huge amounts of data" to the government and investors.
"We're going to always be transparent with our investors," Anderson said. "I don't think that there's any legal prohibition on being transparent."
These people that voted yes now realize that we should have never even seen this TA. Just look at the article above, that is the direct result of the company using and abusing our very lives. We should be rewarded for such great work and sacrifice, not choked out even more. These yes voters are now starting to see why the overwhelming majority said NO, and NO More!
Now, the very people that put this last TA together are meeting in Washington to figure out another plan. I am sure that once again they will use their subject matter experts not to educate the pilots as to the enormous wealth that we are producing for Delta, but to figure out just how much lipstick that they need to put on the previous pig to make us buy it.
Well from what you are telling me and from what the vote told ALPA and the company, we are not buying it. This pilot group is educated and organized.
We know that:
1. The MEC and the yes voting reps are not interested in restoring what we gave up!
2. The company has positioned itself, as have all of the major carriers, to withstand any downturns and maintain a steady revenue stream.
3. Oil prices, with U.S. produced oil and the recent Iran deal, will be low for many years into the future.
4. Our voting makes no difference in what airplanes the company is going to purchase. We are glad that the company is going to cancel the airplanes that would have brought pay cuts to the vast majority of this pilot group.
5. This last TA was a short term fix for a long term problem. It is very clear to everyone in this industry that the pilot shortage is the result of the very thing that the last TA just tried to ram down our throats. Not nearly enough pay and work rules that make this life and career seem horrible enough that young people of today don't want to do it!
6. The majority of the pilots have adopted the "NO HURRY, NO WORRY" battle cry! When 65% would rather stay working under this contract than see what remains of our quality of life destroyed, you know that time is on our side!
Now, I don't know what the MEC and the yes voting reps are going to say to each other when they get to the meeting in Washington, but I do know what we have already told them about the last TA................................................ ........................NO WAY!
Go to the meeting if at all possible. Take some time out of your very busy life to make a difference for yourself, your family, and every airline pilot to come! The entire airline pilot world is watching us right now. We won the last battle, but we have not won the war. You are the golden goose and you need the company to feed you well and get their hands off your neck!

With Great Determination,
Jimmy Johnson
