A write-in candidacy will be an uphill battle.
To be successful it will require an enormous communication effort.
Most pilots are not regulars on social media or the forums and will not even be aware of it.
Key to the whole enterprise --
Does a candidate who was not nominated have access to ALPA's e-mail system?

To your first point, the attachment can help. Print it, trim it, and leave it on the yoke clip so the next gal or guy will have something on which to write her or his flight number, taxi clearance, ATIS identifier, grocery list, etc.
To your second, I am not sure. However, I do recall three people who were not running sent out an endorsement email for DeRosa. So I would venture a guess and say maybe.

Oh, I don't doubt for a second it is going to be a hard uphill battle.

And to hockeypilot...I know, right? Obviously there were too many candidates. And by "obviously," I mean Nestor and O'Mahoney were the top 2 FO rep nominees because the vote for change was split. DeRosa getting most nods for captain rep is very promising, though. It is not going to be easy, but we can do this!

There were like a hundred candidates talking about restoration and only three that were old school Moak guys. Because of that the vote got split amongst the 100 restoration candidates. Any one who liked the TA voted for the other three so they won pretty easy. That is my theory at least. We will find out soon how this plays out.
