Once they start issuing surface 3's you should be able to run all required training on the company computer. I suspect if your class date is March or later you will get the 3.

Maybe you're getting the looks because there is no OC4. You sure you weren't in a Best Buy?

I thought they said only management types were getting the Surface 3 at first to test run everything. I think the memo said wide distribution wouldn't be until the end of the year give or take.

It said end of winter...not end of year. Winter ends around 21Mar so I'm inclined to agree we'll get them in a couple of months.

You people obviously know nothing of how Delta IT works. You have to factor in the 4 to 6 equation. C'mon, a department whose motto is, "Bringing you yesterday's technology, tomorrow," isn't one to hit its goals very often.

I suppose I must have assumed that when I read the memo. It does say late winter, but it also says that initially it'll be just management, instructors, etc. Based on experience elsewhere I figured line pilots won't see them for many months later, but I'd love to be wrong.

A Windows laptop is still necessary if you want to get started on your fleet specific CBT's that are on the thumb drive they give you. The only way you won't need it is if your class gets the surface 3's. They will read a thumb drive but the 2's do not. But there are a lot of online CBT's that you have to complete as well and some of them require flash. The thumb drive work can be done at home you can also do CBT's in the training center after class.

Thank you. I will make sure to purloin my wife's laptop as my brain needs as much systems lead time as possible.
