Having done QCQ, I'm just glad I am officially and totally checked out on the 321. Now if I ever see one in the next year or two, I'll be ready to go.

I missed Chugger though.

Lufthansa isn't too happy being the guinea pig with the GTFs. With it being such a new tech and the complexity of the gears, right now they are requiring a 10 (yes TEN) minute warmup AND cooldown for the engines. I imagine that will go down as reliability is proven, though.

The 321NEO has 100nm more range than the 757W with 13,000 lbs less fuel. Impressive.
On paper..... 737-800 or -900 anyone?

It seems as if our WB aircraft is going down and our NB aircraft count is going up, without additional WB purchases we are in danger of becoming a feeder airline for our JV partners. Just my 2 cents. Rant over!

That danger is already here. This is why we can not trade profit sharing for pay!!

Management's latest buzz word is "total compensation". My total compensation might be greater than an AMR or UAL pilot on the same aircraft. However, their charted pay rate is $50 more an hour.

If the Straits of Hormuz closes tomorrow, the price of oil will hit $150 a barrel. And profit sharing will vaporize. We have a dilemma. My choice is decouple profit sharing from these negotiations. It is a must have. Worth taking a walk for.

That's why we should never...never give up our scope....it's worth taking a walk for too.

I don't want to be a Southwest on steroids with a few token widebodies so we can call ourselves a global airline. The number of widebodies we have compared to United and American is embarassing....and they keep buying/taking delivery of more 777-300s, A350s, and 787s

Profit sharing is the only way we can see a dime from the JV flying

As long as they don't count profit sharing I'm ok with "total compensation". I'm not ok with basing my next contracts total compensation on a metric that could go away tomorrow.

PS is an extra that is a payback for prior giveaways, not part of the new contracts "total compensation".

This term from management is simply a new way to try and sneak in concessions.

I agree. Management's latest missive want's to discount our pay rates going forward because of the profit sharing payout. I would believe 95% of the pilot group can see management's duplicity. I won't be a JD Power poster boy.
