I think someone stated we won't see anymore narrow bodies over the Atlantic.

This is all part of the Virgin Atlantic JV so we add a 757 and they add? Remember we are currently well over the agreement threshold. They could add a lot more.

That's quite the stretch in comparison. The big 3 are quite a bit different than those carriers in a tremendous number of ways. Yes, they are airlines, and yes, there will be another downturn, but it is a very different world today.

The entire announcement on this was posted here and I suspect you read it. For those that did not here are the changes.

VA is gaining LHR-SEA. In addition they pick up JFK-MAN for the summer. Returns to Delta in the fall.
VA drops one DTW and one ATL flight

DL adds AMS-LHR. 1 additional flight DTW and ATL to LHR. JFK-Glasgow and picks JFK to MAN back in the fall.

Total UK flying up 23% since we bought VA.

Not putting words in his mouth, but I think he means the "too big to fail" mentality.

No, I think he means over-expansion and over-reliance on an international network.

No need to worry Mathew, no need to worry about that at all. The secret to our success is codesharing, something that was barely a thought in the boardrooms back when Pan Am and the others ruled the skies.

Now, as long as you never want to actually fly these routes, you'll never be disappointed.

Wouldnt risk be mitigated by not flying dal metal.

Personally, I'll take the higher risk. But codeshares and JVs make Delta less risky.
