Shoe on the other foot?
The union doesn't need to argue that the bonuses violate our contract, but that their intent was to pressure DALPA during contract negotiations. They should introduce a historical list of previous non-contract bonuses, their timing, size, etc. If that argument prevails (difficult, perhaps, but not impossible), they can be enjoined, at least until self-help release. That's how Delta won an injunction against the "no overtime" campaign.

Funny how these posts remain pretty constant. Attacking each other, jockeying for position or maybe auditioning for an alpa position.
I see alpa as the problem, by design. If you have a multi-million dollar entity enticing your leader to new heights in pay and retirement, why would a few quids taken from 13,000 pilots even enter the picture. Why not get the deal done with concessions and move on to better things? Alpa has made the path to a single retirement for one much easier than a retirement boost for 13,000.
Who will benefit most with this concession agreement in place? Did we think this was all about the dal pilot? Those 13,000 pilots mean nothing compared to the win for a very few at the NMB, alpa, and dal mgt after a finished alpa/dal mgt agreement, just ask L Moak.

The MEC is looking for leverage, what other things do you speak of? Allowing managements actions to be taken uncontested emboldens them and sets a precedent. Our inaction speaks loudly.
As for money, I have given ALPA 19 years worth of dues and need a return on that investment. National can start writing us checks from the MCF if we run short.

How about holding the company to the actual PWA we now have? That requires the pilot force to actually know the contract though. Some do and that is great....but until we all call them on their BS, the day-to-day things will continue to slip away. Know the contract...fly the contract.

Some union, 30% of our compensation will be derived from a calculation being kept secret. Enough! If we had real financial experts working for us this would be a no brainer.

I'm amazed at how many times I have to call crew skeds to fix their "mistakes." Incorrect trip assignment (because they didn't bother to check preferences or slips), incorrect rest assignments, improper payback rest, failure to award payback days....the list goes on and on. It's like dying a death by a thousand cuts. It makes me wonder just how much they are really getting away with either on purpose or through ignorance. Know your contract. Fly the contract.
