Anyone notice that legacy southwest pilots get their "retro," but airtran guys don't get it... Ah, unity!

You will have to explain to me how another airline getting a raise does not help our cause? You have to understand how the NMB looks at the world. In their mind, if several other airlines are signing contracts with pay rates below your demands, then it just further confirms their belief that you're being unreasonable. |

Full retro.................wait for the apologists to explain this one away......and yes, the retro SWAPA was wanting, they got pretty much just that.
But, but, but nobody ever gets full retro.....some of you need to check your man card...this is coming from a woman. |

Ummmmm.....they didn't??? And they had to contribute to get a company match. This is a big gain for them dude....if they ratify.

Bull$hit. We DID NOT get true full retro.
When did you transition? I hear the AirTran guys who transitioned later aren't even getting retro for the time on the AirTran side. |

5.7% is the net gain. That's not a bad number.
Yes for some the TA is only a "net gain" but now everyone can get it no matter their financial position and they don't have to put in a penny of their own money to get it. In other words that's at least a 15% raise for all above their new TA rates, and at least 5.7 for the rest. But I'm sure there's a concession in there somewhere if you spin the numbers right........ |

They don't count it because it's a variable number that can't be predicted...just like they don't account for scope.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk That is why profit sharing is not considered "fixed" income. |

1 item that was already in our contract that we said we wouldn't object. ULH. It's still there, just now they have to work with us and we can't veto before doing launch.
Yeah, I guess letting the company launch ULH without prior approval of ALPA for all 121 of our airframes that pay 305/hr was a concession. Venture to guess what our most senior flying is????? Don't worry about those two. When they were children they complained at Christmas even when they got everything from Santa they wanted. They keep all of their "participation" trophies on display. They would find a way to criticize a mathematically perfect circle. |
While I am happy with the 15% B-fund, the solid pay raises (I never expected to be the highest paid 737 pilot in the industry in terms of hourly rate nor do I care), the decent retro that includes retirees, deceased, and pilots who lost their medicals, and the fact we retain our scheduling quality of life, sick leave policy, and stiff armed PBS it did come at a cost to us...
That cost is in section 1. We have never allowed any codeshare of any type and now for the first time in the history of southwest we will have our passengers riding on other airlines. Thankfully the language SHOULD be rock solid in terms of the size of the aircraft, the markets served, etc., but we did just giveaway a part of our golden egg. |
