Ok...thanks, so once Golden Days are awarded, there is no way to change them?

A golden day by another name is an X day. It's just a "special" X day. As long as there is good reserve coverage, you don't exceed the number of X day blocks, and you meet the days of availability groupings, you can move an X day anywhere you want. If it's a "golden" X day, it loses its status as "golden" but it's still an X day.

I had to do this for next month. Oh well.

I'm not 100% on this, but I'm pretty sure you can break reserve award rules when using PD/PB. I know you can APD and break reserve award rules since I've done it. What you can't do is move XX days which break the reserve rules as I've tried to do this as well and failed :).

Are we going to get a new and updated scheduling handbook that covers new contract language???

A little thread necromancy here..

F/O lines came out today. I'm now having one lone ** day on 30 JAN, with a 12 day reserve block and a 5 day reserve block on both sides of it. Not worth going home for one day normally with the commute out of NYC.

I tried to use PCS to move the Reserve X day from 30 JAN to 18JAN.
iCrew says I can't do that, move must be 3 days in the future.
Reserve coverage looks good. I can't find anything in the contract that says must move 3 days in advance.

Call scheduling. They say can't do it within 3 days. I asked where that's written, he didn't know, just "cant be done".

So now I have this lone ** day that's basically useless, what is the best way to make use of it? Hope for 30 hour rest into it to make enough time to be worth going home?

PCS for additional on call day? I think that gets me 3:45ish in credit if I do it.?

Any other jedi master moves I should consider using?

I was considering just sitting on my ass at home and playing the long call roulette, but there's a 3-4 hour window a night where I have to drive 7 hours if they hit me with a 12 hour on the nose callout.

I am trying to u derstand why it’s not worth going home on the single X day. You can leave on the 29th at noon to head home. The earliest you could be given any activity would be 10AM on the 31st.

Trying to get home from JFK/LGA in winter direct usually becomes a **** show, then it turns into two legs via ATL after waiting 3ish hours after noon for my next flight going home.

Loads usually look good until about 3 hours to go, then the non rev ninjas hit!

While it's 46 hours on paper, by the time you kill the three hour until the next flight out, then the two hours home if you make it, seven plus if you go via ATL, and then getting back on a 5pm flight the next day I get 24 hours at best, Home airport arrive airport to home airport departing. Add 1/2 hour getting gate check, walk to car, wait in line at the world's slowest pay booth, then 1-1/2 hours on the front side between driving to airport, parking, checking in, etc..

They used to have more flights but it's cut back for the season.

That's why my normal bid has "4 day off minimum" which I usually get, but this month NAVBLUE told me to GFY, and basically "Not Honored" most everything.. Which is weird because reserve coverage is stupid fat this month on the ER>

Be aware that you will have a 30 hr break with that one ** day as long as they don’t use you past noon on the 29th. (Since you are automatically released at noon on the day prior to a golden day.)

I know this is one of the older posts but this is a common question. You can break reserve rules with a PB/PD on NB categories, you can NOT on WB categories.
