What's the consensus on the pending MSP 73N category. Anyone have any insight into if it will go Senior or Junior? I know most 320 guys are entrenched, but will the Maddog folks jump like rats off a burning ship?

Some will, some are so pre-abused by their previous years on the 88 they'll stay due to their Stockholm syndrome for the airplane.

As you know, it's a new base/category, so allows anyone on the seniority list to bid it.
Crew resources has already stated they're blocking anyone from the Duluth unit from bidding new categories in MSP.
Simple answer. I don't think anyone knows. As in previous new base/category assignments, the first bid might go junior, then go more senior on subsequent bids when everyone else can see the "low water mark" of seniority.
Good luck

I think most of the MSP Maddog captains and FO's who could hold it will try to move up to the 73N. Airbus folks - not likely. I'm on the 73N now, and not one of the Captains I've flown with was an FO on the 320. Most are coming off wide body FO and decided to upgrade.

Believe or not, when I moved from the 733 to the M90 in SLC, it was a step up in comfort..but that's when the Maddog's still had a coat closet. I don't know how many MSP guys will go for the cramped cockpit and the all-nighters, especially if they have never flown it before. My bet is it will go junior at first..once the locals see how the trips and seniority breaks down..then they'll make a move.
