What time is the MEC vote taking place?

80ktsClamp 12-07-2016 10:40 AM

JD's post on FB sure didn't last long, haha. I've been wrong on 100% of who I would thought win elections so far this year, but seeing the ensuing meltdowns has been immensely enjoyable!

Wow. Clean sweep.

Bartels
Schnitzler
Brielmann

I was literally going to post "wow! clean sweep" just now!

I'm personally glad these 3 weren't in charge prior to now as I don't think we would have gotten a TA, but this may very well be an appropriate hour for a bit more hardline leadership now that the vote is over.

Bodes well for enforcement/contract administration. :)

A great big +1

A 10-9 vote for any Master Chairman is not "great news."

Don't care about the breakdown...only care about who won

Why is that great news? I'm not a Bartels-basher (never met the guy and I am confident that he is taking the job seriously) but surely if JM was re-elected that would also be "great news?"

Agree to disagree. He vowed to return to the line when he initially ran if the TA was ratified...so he should have done that instead of run for re-election. Personally I'm very happy with the results from today.

Why not? A huge mandate could tempt one to ignore the minority.

Yup. Things would be fine of John had won. Things will be fine with the new administration.

Very telling that John's EA is already online advertising the recall of the council 44 f/o reps. He is very disappointed in them.

Of course, he told me when I last saw him that he was completely apolitical.

Tanker1497 12-07-2016 12:22 PM

What a joke this union is. Necessary, but a joke. It won't change with DPA (which I don't support) or any other independent union. My only goal is to get dues down to 1 percent. Let's pay less for a bunch of grown men acting like this...

Herkflyr 12-07-2016 12:31 PM

Good thing that I've never been to Chit Chat and removed myself from the FB group. No idea of the ins and outs of all this.

I think that we would have been well served with JM being re elected, but I will give the new leadership the benefit of the doubt. I assume that they ran to represent all the pilot group and that they will do a good job.

C44 FO Recalls

I just got an email saying the agenda for the January LEC meeting consists of the FO's being recalled.

Why? Weren't they the write in candidates last time for the elections?

Especially when the tie breaker is the person voting for himself. I find that interesting.

JJ voted no to the TA, but his vote was surrounded by uncertainty. CK voted in support of the TA. No sure I see your point?

How can we fight against their recalls? And *** don't we have electronic voting for this stuff?

CheapTrick 12-07-2016 02:40 PM

JM said he was one and done. Running again is a red flag in the integrity column. (I know, I'm naïve.) Today's vote works for me.

JungleBus 12-07-2016 03:09 PM

Oof, Malone can't catch a break. First time, ousted by Moak; second time, ousted by hardliners. Agree that he probably shouldn't have run after saying he'd go back to the line once we had a contract. I'm very appreciative of his leadership at a critical juncture for the pilot group, but think BB will do fine as an "implement & enforce the contract" MEC chairman.

Trip7 12-07-2016 03:21 PM

IMO I doubt Council 44 folks felt they were represented by the votes of Johnson and Kern. If that is the case their recalls are warranted.

Clamp+1 on being glad these three weren't in charge during negotiations.

You do realize that Kern voted yes on the TA? Johnson voted no, but given the circumstances surrounding his vote, not to sure about his no vote.

I love how people are comparing 2 different types of votes like they're apples to apples. And sorry but you would think anyone currently in office is the GOAT.

ERflyer 12-07-2016 04:10 PM

Now that we have a contract for the next three years, a 30% raise, plus more, I don't really care who is in charge for the near future.

That said, I'm glad the new group was not in charge the last year.

Really? You haven't heard about Derry Anderson's little stunt with the FAA?

I don't think you're ready to play defense...

Piklepausepull 12-07-2016 05:34 PM

I think Scott Martin would probably vote for himself to be recalled. I would!

Why work in that pig farm if all you do is get covered in pig $hit. You can't win, you give your "all", and people hate on you!

I'm sure he'd be tickled to go back to the line!

That's just my opinion...............

dodgerk 12-07-2016 05:42 PM

Is Malone still part of the MEC or is he just heading back to the line?

Dustycrophopper 12-07-2016 05:50 PM

This election paralleled the president one.

Council 44 Captain reps cucold by the F/O reps they endorsed. You really can't make this stuff up. Get the popcorn.

You better hope that nothing important like a merger or significant change in alliances happens in the next 3 years.
Our new MEC chairman is like a sleazy divorce attorney. He never produces a good outcome but sows lots of hate and dicontent along the way! That keeps the billable hours up until the savings accounts are empty.
