Right in the middle of Badgertown, University of Wisconsin (like or hate, it is a fun place to be).
+1 on that! Some top class restaraunts too, that are not too pricey. The Old Fashioned (on the square) has been on the food network a few times for their burgers and cheesecurds. Ontop of that many, many drink selections, wines, and fancy cheese's if your into that crap.
Also on the square, Graze, kinda pricey but the best baked mac and cheese on the planet. Very fun environment too.

KPWK- Tore and Lukes, just to the West in Arlington Heights. Kind of a hole in the wall, but awesome pizza, fries and dogs. Cheap too with a drive through. Also some nice hotels innthat area, the one i had a while ago was above a mall with movie theatres, grocery store, bars within walking distance. Kinda like a big outlet mall.

GUM. Snorkel all day. Never gets old.
BOS. If it's baseball or hockey season and a game is in town.

(In regards to GUM) Tumon Bay - the Beach Bar on the North end is worth checking out around sunset time.

I'm surprised Key West hasn't made the list. Is it only good for cross countries?
