Your Favorite Overnight (or two)
Where and why?
1. Memphis for Beale Street just a block away from the hotel, (Double Tree, one of the nicest I have been to), and if you have time the baseball stadium is right across the street (AAA league for the Cardinals i think). Beale Street is lined with bars, live music and great food.
2. Madison, Wisconsin. The hotel is right beside the capitol building. Plenty of food and bars within a short walk, and if you are ever there on a saturday morning, the farmers market just outside the hotel that wraps all the way around the capitol building is a must visit. Right in the middle of Badgertown, University of Wisconsin (like or hate, it is a fun place to be).

Corporate:
Hilton Head. Great Golf, beach, warm water, and good scenery. Plus some really great restaurants!
Las Vegas. Great accomodations (Last trip was 3 nights at Monterrey Bay), plus all of the various activities and associated details which will stay in Vegas.
Of course both destinations are better when my wife can come too!
Airline:
Portland, ME. We stayed at the Hilton Garden right by the airport, but the hotel had free tickets downtown. Great bier and lobstah right on the watah. Plus homemade ice cream a block away.
Savannah, GA. Stayed at the Day Inn right downtown a block from River Street. Great night life and plenty to do/eat. The only bad part was the drunken crawl back up the stairs from River Street to the hotel!
Burlington, VT. Stayed near downtown at the Sheraton. Downtown is great. Lots to do both summer and winter and some great pubs/restaurants. Ri'ra (Irish) was one of my favorites (even though it is a chain). Plus it was one of the only overnights where you could get decent food until 4am.

Really I'm surprised nobody has mentioned OCS, with all that it has to offer lol.
In all seriousness, I have a few faves-
SAT: Riverwalk is a blast, without fail. Always enjoy the food and scenery when I'm there.
SBA: An amazing California gem, tour the Mission and visit the pier. It's fun to see the Navy pull up to let sailors enjoy shore leave too.

KLIT - I like the restaurants along Clinton Blvd in Little Rock - though I generally get my German food fix at 'The Flying Saucer'.
KSAT/KAUS - both have great walks for food and bars if you are interested.
KEFD - Some of the favorite restaurants around and I like the pseudo airshow that seems to be in town every time I show up. A recent trip of a co-worker had a MiG-21 at the field.
hummmmm.....seems FOOD is a driving factor in my favortie list.
Maybe that is why............nah...........couldn't be!
