Default Ground Transportation at LAX

When airline pilots and crews land at airports, what type of transportation do they use to get to the hotels, or around town during their layover? Is it whatever the hotel uses, or a different transportation company?

Thanks for helping out the newbie!

It's usually the hotel van, if the hotel has van service. Some hotels don't provide van service and so it would be a contracted crew van. Once in a while even a pre-set-up cab.

Most of our hotels, to include LAX, have in house van service. DFW is one that doesn't.

Thanks for the response, I'm thinking about launching a branch of transportation specifically for crew transport. However I am in the LAX area and am not sure how much business a company would be able to generate.

Do you know what type of airline person would I contact for crew transportation? Is it the station manager?

Thanks

That would be a good place to start.

I'd think the big airlines' crew scheduling departments handle it too.

What a ridiculously unsafe evolution it is once you're outside of the airport...
