Just interested how this might affect upgrades/quick upgrades going into next year?

Probably won't affect much as we're gaining 4 new aircraft per month.

Sure, but the net is only 2.**** per month...

So you're saying there's a chance

What' with all the one in a million talk?

On a more serious note, with roughly 20 a month leaving, just to the big D, should be movement?

Three classes in Oct and three in Nov with more next year? Somethings afoot!

If the TA passes, I believe it will, more 700s and 900s?

Thanks for all the good info. I definitely do not want to go to Expressjet or Gojet, so I guess that narrows it down to Skywest if I want home basing. I'm prior 121 so I could start at fourth year pay and get the 7500 dollar bonus which makes the pay a little more bearable. Actually, Skywest's pay isn't bad compared to others if you disregard bonuses. They also have better work rules than most carriers and seem to be a very good company to work for. I'm also considering a Chicago commute for Envoy or Air Wisconsin. Any thoughts on either of those?

If you don’t want to go to expressjet then why are you considoring Air Wisconsin? They’re practically in the same boat. Don’t be fooled by their gimmicks. They’re the heavy weight champs of keeping their pilots in the dark. There’s 70 or so of us that all came here in the last year or so.

Plan on getting new york if you come here or maybe atlanta. FWIW, Detroit to atlanta from word of mouth probably one of the hardest commutes in the country. If not the hardest. If hou desire home base out training go to skywest. Detroit is obtainable here unlike Minneapolis but it’ll be at minimum 6-8 monthes after training, maybe longer.

I am a 200 CA who commutes from DTW to ATL. The commute only really sucks bad on the weekends. Otherwise I usually make it on. They've had to positive space me once so far since June, otherwise I haven't had to Call in Honest. There are lots of 2 leg options that work, through cities like CHA, EVV and TYS. Some of the 2 legs are on our own metal also which makes it easier. What sucks is being like 10 seniority numbers from holding DTW 200 and this might be the closest I get if they start the displacements soon.

What do you mean by "same boat?" All I knew was that Expressjet just lost a contract and will lose a bunch of airplanes and the whole ASA Expressjet thing is going to be a big mess. Air Wiskey has a new contract and is about to grow like crazy from what I understand. Plus they are giving out massive bonuses and have good work rules as far as duty rig, trip rig etc...All I know is the propaganda I read from the company and what I hear on this forum. What are they leaving you in the dark about?

most junior person in base by hire date as of the 9/18/17 class and the latest vacancy.

*Where (1), (2), (3) etc. are used the higher the numerical value, the more junior that position is in that class.

**(return to work) indicates that the most junior position in that position worked for the company previously and returned; at that seniority the order of awards for captain are based upon the amount of company and total time vs actual seniority.

Their “long term contract” with United is 5 years long. Hardly long term. Its a stay of execution until they get more 737s on their roster, its the same thing expressjet got whikw their asa side got the axe from delta. Its a filler. They are not growing at all, if anything theyre shrinking. They are not gaining any new airplanes, they are only flying 50 planes, down from the 66 they had and the 71 they had 2 years ago. Alot more of their 200s aes getting tired and hitting their max cycles and will need to be parked. 1.5 year ago, they had 900 pilots, now about 450-500. They announced bonus to stop the bleeding. Its alot od money but womt last forever. The 18-24 month upgrade has been public for over 6 momthes with guys showing up thinking that's what will happen. Where as there are 2012 hires still waiting for a class date to upgrade. Upgrade is right now 4-5 years. And will be for the foreseeable future. They have good work rules when the company follows them. Go there ans expect to fly until you pass out from junior mans, extensions and re routes.
