Current Base Seniority Numbers

Thinking about coming to Endeavor. I live in Detroit, so thats obviously the base I'm interested in, but I thought it may be useful info for everyone else on here too. What are the current base seniority hire dates for first officers and captains? Also, how long are new guys sitting reserve in each of the bases? How is this expected to change after adding all the new airplanes? Are there guys waiting to get into the ATL base from other bases?

Thanks, UNDGUY

FODhopper 10-13-2017 06:31 AM

The only bases pilots are NOT waiting to get into are LGA and JFK.

If you want Detroit right away look at Skywest. Their pay sucks and they'll work you hard, but you'd be home

Plan on getting new york if you come here or maybe atlanta. FWIW, Detroit to atlanta from word of mouth probably one of the hardest commutes in the country. If not the hardest. If hou desire home base out training go to skywest. Detroit is obtainable here unlike Minneapolis but it’ll be at minimum 6-8 monthes after training, maybe longer.

I'll take a wild guess; with more airplanes headed to ATL, less guys will be waiting for ATL which will probably draw some guys from NYC and maybe a few more senior guys from DTW or MSP. What that will do to overall base seniority is anyone's guess. Are there guys waiting to get into the ATL base from other bases? Almost certainly

These numbers are based on the November mock and the reserve cutoff could change slightly, but it's pretty close. Also there are a few relatively senior that bid reserve intentionally but the likely reason they do is probably going to end in January (see the other threads) so I am discounting that as well as a random CDO line out of place.

Bottom line holder/ bottom pilot (company seniority)

ATL 200
CA 923/1398
FO 1489/1649

ATL 900
CA 309/982
FO 1157/1668

DTW 200
CA 678/996
FO 1587/1647

DTW 900
CA 357/985
FO 1291/1658

JFK 200
CA 866/1326
FO 1594/1676

JFK 900
CA 896/1439
FO 1462/1750

LGA 200
CA 905/1261
FO 1648/1675

LGA 900
CA 871/1407
FO 1546/1760

MSP 200
CA 497/665
FO 1428/1639

MSP 900
CA 164/520
FO 1221/1688

Keep in mind MSP 200 base is closing, word is the closing bid posts early November... That's a lot of senior pilots being forced to move and that will shake things up a lot probably.

The guy wanted hire dates, the seniority numbers don’t mean anything to him since he doesn’t work here.

Thanks for all the good info. I definitely do not want to go to Expressjet or Gojet, so I guess that narrows it down to Skywest if I want home basing. I'm prior 121 so I could start at fourth year pay and get the 7500 dollar bonus which makes the pay a little more bearable. Actually, Skywest's pay isn't bad compared to others if you disregard bonuses. They also have better work rules than most carriers and seem to be a very good company to work for. I'm also considering a Chicago commute for Envoy or Air Wisconsin. Any thoughts on either of those?

Just interested how this might affect upgrades/quick upgrades going into next year?

Probably won't affect much as we're gaining 4 new aircraft per month.

Sure, but the net is only 2.**** per month...

So you're saying there's a chance

What' with all the one in a million talk?

On a more serious note, with roughly 20 a month leaving, just to the big D, should be movement?

Three classes in Oct and three in Nov with more next year? Somethings afoot!

If the TA passes, I believe it will, more 700s and 900s?

If you don’t want to go to expressjet then why are you considoring Air Wisconsin? They’re practically in the same boat. Don’t be fooled by their gimmicks. They’re the heavy weight champs of keeping their pilots in the dark. There’s 70 or so of us that all came here in the last year or so.

I am a 200 CA who commutes from DTW to ATL. The commute only really sucks bad on the weekends. Otherwise I usually make it on. They've had to positive space me once so far since June, otherwise I haven't had to Call in Honest. There are lots of 2 leg options that work, through cities like CHA, EVV and TYS. Some of the 2 legs are on our own metal also which makes it easier. What sucks is being like 10 seniority numbers from holding DTW 200 and this might be the closest I get if they start the displacements soon.

What do you mean by "same boat?" All I knew was that Expressjet just lost a contract and will lose a bunch of airplanes and the whole ASA Expressjet thing is going to be a big mess. Air Wiskey has a new contract and is about to grow like crazy from what I understand. Plus they are giving out massive bonuses and have good work rules as far as duty rig, trip rig etc...All I know is the propaganda I read from the company and what I hear on this forum. What are they leaving you in the dark about?

web500sjc 10-14-2017 01:29 PM

most junior person in base by hire date as of the 9/18/17 class and the latest vacancy.

*Where (1), (2), (3) etc. are used the higher the numerical value, the more junior that position is in that class.

**(return to work) indicates that the most junior position in that position worked for the company previously and returned; at that seniority the order of awards for captain are based upon the amount of company and total time vs actual seniority.

Their “long term contract” with United is 5 years long. Hardly long term. Its a stay of execution until they get more 737s on their roster, its the same thing expressjet got whikw their asa side got the axe from delta. Its a filler. They are not growing at all, if anything theyre shrinking. They are not gaining any new airplanes, they are only flying 50 planes, down from the 66 they had and the 71 they had 2 years ago. Alot more of their 200s aes getting tired and hitting their max cycles and will need to be parked. 1.5 year ago, they had 900 pilots, now about 450-500. They announced bonus to stop the bleeding. Its alot od money but womt last forever. The 18-24 month upgrade has been public for over 6 momthes with guys showing up thinking that's what will happen. Where as there are 2012 hires still waiting for a class date to upgrade. Upgrade is right now 4-5 years. And will be for the foreseeable future. They have good work rules when the company follows them. Go there ans expect to fly until you pass out from junior mans, extensions and re routes.

UNDGUY 10-16-2017 08:21 AM

Am I right about this?

So if I am understanding what I'm looking at here. 200 FO's are pretty much all the same seniority in every base except ATL. So that means even if I don't get DTW straight out of training, I should be able to get it the next bid? The really concerning thing is Detroit is super duper senior on the captain side of things. So I would have to take a NY base to upgrade. Am I correct on these two statements?

This is also if you get the 200. Almost everyone in the last few classes has gotten the 900. Getting Detroit on the 900 would take over a year. The 200 word on the street here is on its last legs. Delta has stated a few times over the years they are done with 50 seat jets. I wouldn’t count on them being around much longer. And yes as of now if you wanna upgrade, most likely New York. However Atlanta might be feasible down the line. It’s still a new base for us.

One more ? Re: DTW

I really want DTW so you are saying the 900s is the way to go as a brand new FO (decent odds). Also I am trying to remember, does Endeavor class seniority go off of age (in my 40s). Just trying to gauge what I need to focus on to get a jet out of DTW w/ Endeavor. Thank you!

Class seniority as of now is DOB
If TA passes its SSN.
Trying to base your decision on today's bases and seniority is a waste of time. They can grow/shrink in a moments notice
As can the fleet

TwinTandem 10-17-2017 10:30 AM

Thanks for the information. Your advice makes good sense. If it was just me then no worries, but with a family involved I am always trying to get more information to reduce any unnecessary pain if possible. I'm sure I am spinning my wheels on something that is out of my control. If passed when does the TA go into affect?

January 1st for most parts. Some provisions that require computer programming to implement may take a few months.

I understand. Most of our announced growth for 2017-18 is Atlanta
Dtw is out 2nd most senior base. Msp is 1st. Every month that
Goes by you have another 50 pilots ahead of you. Even if
You get your choice of domicile you will still be gone 4 days a week
Unless you do cdo’s.

That would be reserve in DTW as well as ATL 900, it would do well in New York especially on the 200 though
