Still looking at 2.5 -3 year minimum. What it is now doesn't mean it will stay that way. You have to understand the entire company/industry was stagnant for over a year when it came up upgrades or new hires.

They also need to recognize that upgrades are instant at places like C5 because they're ****ty places to work.

When I was hired, several classmates were awarded captain in indoc. I just got CA, four years later. Having said that, upgrade times here will be trending drastically downward. This industry is about luck and timing.

Bingo. Not saying they won't get to 2 years or less but it's going to take some time. Let things get back to somewhat normal first.

Well if you don't have previous 121 you'll likely need 2 years to get the time anyway. I flew about 500 hours per year my first two years. Now I'm rocking like 250 a year. I love it haha.

But if you think 2 years is a long time to upgrade....

It'll get much faster as attrition speeds up. Out of my upgrade class, less than half of them are still employed here

Most likely because they want too. I've flown 290hrs in the last 6 months.

Because I want to. I bid reserve last out and live in base. Want to maximize my time with the kids. Think in May I was in my bed 25 nights or something like that.

Haha. Get some perspective man. With the majors hiring tons of people, the upgrade time should come down significantly.

290 in 6 months is not much better to be honest, questioning if this is a good move right now. I’m doing about 90+ a month. QOL is **** tho.
