You are referring to 9E's 140 200's, right?

Yes to the above.

And Delta never intended on collecting the $62 million, that the sale of XJ to Pinnacle and the ensuing merger was on purpose to push 9E into bankruptcy so they could get out of the 50 seat business faster?
I'd say that's fairly accurate. There is no more money to be made in the regional industry in terms of buying them and then selling them or IPOing them. XJ was offloaded because Delta didn't want to own regionals unless it could really screw them into lower cost first. XJ gone, and Compass gone too. Next, they wanted a CEO yes man and Menke wasn't it. They got their yes man and the ensuing BK and forced concessions worked. Then they "bought" 9E corp and will get out of 140 CRJ-200s leases much earlier than previously planned. At this stage, and I hate to say it, but Gumm is a shut down guy. If you are Delta, right now you use Endeavor to force the other DCI carriers (SkyWest, ASA/ExpressJet, GoJet, etc) to force cost reductions (which very likely will be labor cost reductions) and then proceed to shut Endeavor down.

Gumm will do whatever Delta wants him to do which may be to wind Endeavor down, but any CEO can do that.

I don't see them shutting 9E down. Not that I wouldn't leave at the first opportunity, I just think they have made something that really benefits Delta.

I think in the next 6-8 months we will have answers to 2 important questions:

1. When Endeavor gets awarded more flying and airplanes we can put to rest the shutdown theory.

2. When 12 9E guys a month are sitting in DAL classes we will see the SSP coming to fruition.

If Delta is going to wind Endevor down, taking deleveries of new 900's is a true sign of a wind up not down.

Not trying to stir the pot and I don't keep tabs on open positions at random airlines but what about this opening at Pinnacle? Can't remember the last time I saw a position like that.

Not exactly. Wasn't it a timeframe of literally 2 years when certain CRJ-900s bounced between Comair, ASA, and I think XJ? Planes come and go. Regionals are just the staffing company. Endeavor didn't buy the planes, Delta did and that means Delta can still pull the strings and put those planes where they want. The "agreement" isn't worth the paper it's printed on when it comes to Delta and how they deal with their reigonals.

If what you say comes true Endeavor will be the last Dci carrier for Delta. Dela will always have some sort of low cost pilots and in the long term it won't be other regionals.

I agree with a lot of your post but I believe Delta has different plans with Endeavor. Only time will tell.
