For what it's worth, we'll be hiring 400+ pilots next year. It'll be the same hiring process that Delta uses. The goal is for the first new hire class to start in January 2014

To get anybody to go there you're going to have to lower the bar at lot less than the delta hiring process.

" As a part of our long term business plan, Endeavor Air is excited to announce that we are hiring pilots to support growth in Delta Connection flying in 2014 and 2015."

Is there something I'm missing? I thought *at best* Endeavor was keeping the current fleet, but more likely still parking a few planes...just maybe not as many so quickly. Maybe a block hour increase?

Delta Connection flying = Endeavor, Compass, Skywest, GoJet, Shuttle America, ASA/XJT, Chautauqua, etc. Sneaky sneaky.

Alaska you are reading too far into it. Why would Endeavor hire for forecast Skywest flying? It just means they are hiring for the DL side of Endeavor vs. the "other" :D airline they fly for.

Total play on words. If one reads that statement quickly without any thought then it sounds like Endeavor is set to grow in the "long term business plan". In that case there's a long term business plan that Endeavor has that they haven't made public and would be beneficial to publicly acknowledge to encourage hiring, or slow attrition from the bottom of the list. They say "Delta Connection" growth...which is true. If they said "Endeavor Airlines growth" then that would be a lie. They're being sneaky! :p

A US corporation being sneaky?

No way.

I was told to expect a more "firm" business plan update in the next few weeks. The executive team said LGA was definitely happening next year.

Endeavor Airline is no longer a public company. They will never announce anything as far as a business plan. Everything they are doing is based on internal memos from Daddy D. You can't treat EA like another regional waiting for a press release. You won't see one.

So this has nothing to do with New hires but I thought it was funny so i will share. I was in the hotel van the other day with 2 other crews. One a 900 crew and one a 200. There were 3 FA's and 4 Capts. Now that was a pretty cool crew. Of course 2 of the "capts" were downgraded Colgan guys that felt they were above going back to 3 stripes. I thought it was funny because what are the chances you end up in a van with 2 tools at the same time. One of them sat like a little kid in the back seat with his head basically on the seat and knees up on the chair in front of him(almost to the head rest) and played on the phone the entire 25 min van ride with out talking to anyone. Mean while everyone else talked to each other. I know I am being a jerk right now judging 2 guys that refused to go back to 3 stripes and how someone was sitting but what can I say sometimes you have to vent. I also have other thoughts based on the SLI but I do not want to get SHY worked up.

No no by all means please vent! It is the best medicine here. :)
