He'd better lay low while he's a probie. It took most people I know about 5 minutes of hearing his crap to realize how much of a blowhard he was. Combine that with being just an awful pilot... It was funny but also sad flying with an FO that had just flown a trip with him. Total relief of being free of almost getting violated all the time plus his terrible cockpit manner.

I guess his p-56 violation didn't stay on his record somehow? (If it's true he got the offer)

The ultimate goal of the training department is to prevent pilots from crashing planes. A failure of the training dept can be directly linked to the poor training conditions.
Again, I have no beef with Delta, FedEx or any other airline training dept except for Pinnacles (it wasn't Endeavor when I went through). Pinnacles' training dept was ridiculous and a good chunk XJ pilots who jumped the fence to the 9E side will say the same if you ask them. Fear and intimidation is the way of the game over there...at least it was when I went through.

So you are saying what? Angry faces don't really help the next guy.

I don't see anything beyond a nose-dive here.

Ouch... this coming from an instructor from an airline that has crashed airplanes. I dare you to compare Mesaba's safety recored to Pinnacle's any day. How many Mesaba orals have you been through to compare? I've been through many Mesaba training events and 1 too many Pinnacle training events. No comparison. Mesaba was fair and effective. Pinnacle was a ******* show. I learned more in the XJ training events than I ever did at 9E.

True we (XJ) never crashed a plane. We had a few close calls I know of but probably more luck than skill/training kept us off the news.
That being said I also found the Pinnacle training to be pathetic when I crossed the fence. The atmosphere was less than friendly and with one pleasant exception less than informative, to say nothing of any hint of standardization. Those were attributes I never found in the multiple initial Mesaba training events in my career.
The latest trip to the combined training center did seem to be a little better than the old 9E mess however it is still being done fairly bare bones with regard to cramming in how much training needs to be done in the time allotted.

I flew a 4-day trip with AR once. He is truly the highest order of DBaggery. (If it's AR we're talking about that posts his higher than mighty/I know all this inside info about DL on Airlink pilots.) He is extremely arrogant, snuck into outside corners of DTW terminal to smoke, and yes I agree, a mediocre pilot at best. What really got me was how he made it overly noticeable to adjust himself in his seat when I was getting ready to land. He then hovered within inches of the yoke with both hands for the last couple hundred feet. Ugh...

I guess he should get one commendation though. He's a good enough bull sharter to pull the wool over the hiring folks at DL.

Disregard...

I wonder if he will whip out his E-Ciggs and smoke them in the cockpit at Delta like he does now.

There is another CA at 9E that smoked those things in the cockpit and by day 2 I told him to stop. I found I was getting light headed and felt "foggy." He told me it can't be the e-cigs because you just exhale water vapor. I told him there is no other explanation. I believe all that nicotine can't be absorbed into your body, so some of it comes back out when you exhale the vapor. He didn't like it, but he stopped. Luckily we had a decent amount of Canada flying and since he had a DUI, he was removed from those legs. :)

Why do guys let him get away with this kind of behavior? For one where does it say in our FOM that this is allowed? Two I would be calling the chief pilot at the very next landing location and refuse to step foot back in the plane with that kind of ********!!!

AR got the job? Are you kidding me? I thought for sure the panel interview would have bounced him. He doesn't have a degree either. Unbelievable, some of the top pilots, cream of the crop are getting turned down, then some of the real D-Bags are getting hired.

Maybe thats the plan. Take some of the tools and then can them while on probation.
