Yeah, it's not just the FAs that screw up the hotels for us. Once flew with a CA that would pack his own food. And when eating breakfast at a hotel with free food, he would bring his now-empty Tupperware with him, and eat his fill, then fill up the bowls for fine dining later in the cockpit. I offered to loan him a 20 if he'd stop doing that. He just laughed, and said it was "legal".

Last time I stayed there was about a decade ago. Got evacuated from the hotel at 2am because someone was shooting at the building with a rifle.

There is alot to do but be aware of your surroundings. There were some sketchy characters in that neighborhood back in the day. Maybe its better now.

I'm not sure what convinced him I wasn't going to, either my death stare or lecture about "don't complain about free stuff". Sure enough, a week later, hotel mgmt said "ok no cokes for anybody"
