Yup, complete violation of our contract. The contract says after the main cabin door is closed and the parking break is released

holy crap I hadn't even considered that. In that case, the FOM also violates the contract because it says that we block out when brake is dropped and all exterior doors are closed. Start taking pics of pax door closure time.

Probably overkill though since we are talking seconds most likely

Come to think of it, i think it's a brilliant way to adapt to the latest changes. Keep the left engine running for the 200, take the lube out for the 900 if the FWD or CTR doors block you in.

No it won't.... they will still open the door with the engine running.

So to change the pace, anybody know what the story is with the negotiations into rolling in the retention pay into our base salary? I haven't heard anything lately about that.

I can't imagine anyone is entertaining the idea of going with the union proposal. Look at the past few weeks with this software, and policy change, where they nickel, and dime us out of a few minutes every flight. The union proposal gives them even further incentive to continue down this path. We could have already secured the extra compensation with the company proposal, but instead we are catering to the 100 hour non flying pilots.

What exactly was their proposal because I haven't seen anything published?

If I remember correctly, the ACARS time stamps when each door is opened or closed and the out time is when the Brake is dropped. I say regardless of when the brake is dropped send dispatch an update as to when your money meter starts and ends. As per the contract

Also it would seem a simple software fix to calculate pay off Cabin door not out or in time.

Since no one does the the BLoCK IN per the FOM anyway (a manner in which we would lose money every time), just leaving the left engine running would preclude the aft cargo door from being opened. Just saying 😀

Great idea, then I'll move up a number

Fill the survey out. I don't understand why a new hire would choose 9E over Envoy. The recruiters must be doing a great job.

Maybe they live in Detroit or Atlanta and want a home domicile. Maybe they have no interest in ORD, DFW, or MIA domiciles. Maybe they believe they will have a job with a major airline long before the flow to American would happen. Maybe they have no interest in flying for American. Maybe they want to fly in the Delta system. I can understand why.

As a guy with a 9E class date I go over to the Envoy forums and see just as much complaining over there... from a zero 121 experience perspective, it's pretty tough to validate what sucks the worst.
